If dwight extends early or before his contract is over he can only extend for a max of 3 years and the base salary and 7.5% raises are off the 17 mil he makes this year.

I think that is how it works, just not sure on when he can sign that 5 year deal with us. Does he have to wait until the end of the year, enter FA and then sign? Or can he sign before that as long as it is with his current team. I am no CBA expert, not by far.
