I know he is not happy in LA... Jim Buss fired a bunch of his people after last season, Mitch is not going to stay in LA very long....perhaps Orlando is saying "here we'll make you team president, and pay you very well and you can hire your own people"

Kupchak wanted to hire Brian Shaw as his coach, the Buss family overrode him, and hired Mike Brown instead.

LA is a sinking ship and Kupchak doesn't want his reputation ruined, I think his time in LA is almost up

Kupchak just said last week that he isn't leaving LA, and he just had a meeting/luncheon with Kobe late last week about roster moves. Pretty sure he's staying here.

That was last week and Yeah they discussed roster moves...aka Mitch kupchak leaving. 8-)

. I hope you guys get a resolution to all of this soon, this is quite the mess you guys are going through.

A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

What a choke job by NJ. First they failed to be bad enough then they failed to get the draft rigged. A failure of a franchise if I've ever seen one.

Still just hoping we go into next season with a fresh start. Up and coming coach with a young and athletic team.

He might drop because he cannot work out yet for teams. I disagree on the speed taking over the league (Spurs). He is not a turtle and plays at his pace. His BBall IQ is very high so he can be in the right place on def and make the correct pass. How many super Athletic guys never see the court? Every year you see players that are fast and can jump labeled "raw" and very few pan out.

Bottom line he should be a lotto pick, but an injury might cause him to drop to us. At 19 it is worth a shot for a guy that clearly makes his team better. Watch Harrison Barnes with and without him.

Use the Spurs as an example but doesn't acknowledge that Tony Parker is still one of the fastest guards in the league....What i see and hear is that Marshall doesn't have good speed or athleticism even at a college level....so what can i expect in such a jump in Talent like the NBA where it's the cream of the crop? but as i've said before that is way the league is turning.....

John Wall....Derrick rose...Russel Westbrook.....Rajon Rondo.....All the good young point guards are in that mold.....fast and athletic.....i'm not talking about the old school point guards like the Andre Millers of the world i'm taking about the young guys the future of the NBA.....those point guards are in that mold......now if Marshall was a transcendent passer of which we haven't seen in decades then i would share in your sentiments....but from what i hear he is a great passer....good floor general.....but not much else.....Although i making this statement as it stands now....if at the combine he impresses me then of course i'll change my mind.....still though i don't think he'll be there at 19 imho

The spurs are winning with passing, IQ and team play. I agree you need speed on the team but it does not have to be the PG to win it all. If you can fill out the roster with a mix including athletic wing defenders.
Last 10 champions and thier PGs
2010-2011 Dallas - Kidd
2009-2010 L.A. - Fisher
2008-2009 L.A. - Fisher
2007-2008 Boston - Rondo
2006-2007 S.A. - Parker
2005-2006 Miami - Williams
2004-2005 S.A. - Parker
2003-2004 Detroit - Billups
2002-2003 S.A. - Parker
2001-2002 L.A. - Fisher

All these teams won with veteran players playing smart team basketball.

I used the Spurs as an example because OKC is more athletic at each position and yet the Spurs are winning the games. Last year a much older Dallas team did the same.

Did BS say there was something big brewing or something big brewing that would make it hard for dwight to leave?
I have seen both stated and there is a huge difference between the 2 statements.

Something big could be trading Dwight to the clippers, which is a horrible horrible trade.

I am hoping for something big that keep Dwight here.

I dont put much into any of our local reporters. They have left us hanging and let us down over and over again this year. The GM hire is the next piece of news we need to hear.

Oh, I know MagicMan, but I just wanted clarification on what was really said. People have said both things and there is a huge difference.

I am about positive Dwight is staying at least another year. At the very least. All the media whores out there are getting paid to say those things. Their sources are cashiers checks or money wire transfers. In addition, they probably even get scripts on how to present it to us.

FYI. You are talking about a Billion dollar industry here boys and girls.

Would anyone trade Ryan to the Raptors for the 8th pick? I'm not sure how the value works out there, but the Raptors say they want proven talent, and since they're never going to make the playoffs, Ryan seems like the perfect fit there. Toronto does have the space to absorb him. We might be able to use the 8th to grab Lillard.

Money? Playing time?

I'd accept this deal.

This is Ryan's first pay day. He'll go wherever he gets the most money and the longest deal.

Ryan could also get shipped to the Kings for the 5th pick. He's a local. Depends on if the Kings want more waiting for draft picks to develop, or something closer to the finished product. We'd have to send our 19th to the Kings, maybe more. Not really sure what the value of Ryan is in terms of draft picks.

i like this idea. We need to find out how we can turn anderson into a great trade asset. Anderson+19 pick for a top 10 pick or a player like tyreke evans

Using offensive and defensive rating, which normalizes PPG for pace, the average champion during the last 12 seasons has been 2.67 points better than the league average offense and 4.36 points better than the league average defense, with a combined offense/defense 7.03 points better than the league average offense/defense. The only champion to have a below average offense were the '04 Pistons, and the only champion to have a below average defense where the '01 LA Lakers (though in fairness this was sandwiched between two outstanding defensive years for them). The strongest champion were the '08 Celtics at 11.3 points better than the league average offense/defense. The weakest champion were the '01 LA Lakers at 3.6 points better than the league average offense/defense (they obviously coasted, otherwise this honor would belong to the '06 Heat).

Among our final four, Boston is clearly the worst and would be our worst champion this century, while San Antonio is the strongest and at 7.7 points better than the league average would be slightly above the century's average champion.

'09 Magic were 7.3 points better while the '10 Magic were 8.1 points better. Both championship quality teams, easily. Ah, to be a Magic fan.

I prefer the idea of trading for a #8-#10 pick and keeping #19, this way we could draft a PG with our best pick (Lillard or Marshall) and a SF with our pick.
