That is 46.5 million in players salary.
Even if they sign Lin and Asik, but trade us the rest of their roster the deal still works under the cap.

Someone on the Rockets board put it up and he was laughed at saying they follow LeBron and Durant too. NOT TRUE. They only follow their players, Journalist, sportscasters and other TEAMS.

This would mean the only bad deal on the books is QRich. I could see QRich being a solid guys to keep around. Maybe even one we could trade later for future picks or promising player if he steps in to the starting lineup and performs like we know he can.

Looks like the deal is done. No way they amnesty Scola without the deal in the bag.

Sort of old news. They started following them around 10-11 PM last night. Scola isn't yet amnestied. All signs are pointing to a deal, but let's not jump the gun yet.

Also, what does he mean "NOT TRUE"? At least as of last night, the Rockets were following LeBron, Durant, Dirk, and Ginobili.

What would be awesome, Magic get a ton of youth and unload bad contracts from Otis era via trade with Houston.

I can see it now.

Dwight goes back to Magic next summer as a FA with Josh Smith. Epic.

I don't know what to think about Vaughn. I think no one saw him coming, and the type of player he was gives people pause, but also everything will be new, so I think people just wanted to get at least one thing that they sort of were familiar with. We are more familiar with Shaw and Malone because their names have been floating around for possible coaching jobs before. Vaughn may be a very solid coach, and he gets high praise from Pop so that has to count for something. I'm open to whatever they are going to do I guess.

Call them the Houston Magic.

That is no better than the Magic.

Dwight must really hate Orlando if he goes there.

The thing is they get all those players but have no one else on the cap. They'd have 10 million in cap space after taking all 5 of our guys, which I don't think they do, they don't take 1 of either J-Rich/Hedo/Davis, so you're talking about having 15+ million in space to sign a PG and others. Plus their exceptions.

What more, the actual starting 5 would likely be:

Dwight Howard
Glen Davis
Hedo Turkoglu
Courtney Lee, Jason Richardson
Aaron Brooks

Not horrible starting place. Better if they find a way to stick us with Hedo and hold onto Parsons.

For some reason he was Stockton's backup for a long time and then Pop brought him to be his assistant.

Yeah where is all this negativity coming from, most of you didn't even know he was a coach let alone familiar with his abilities as a coach.

Just about to write that. I got hung up on backup PF/SF/C though. Who cares? Just start playoff rotations day 1. 44-48 minutes a game for each starter.

But WTF, Jacque Vaughn might be our next coach?!?! 21-61 Jacque Vaughn?!?! That's gotta be a joke, please!!

it was 21-61 tyronn lue, 42-40 jacque vaughn... and almost beat detroit in the first round jacque vaughn :)

No everyone knows Tyronn Lue was the real reason we were in the finals in 09, 21-61 was allll Jacque Vaughn.

Seriously though I find it really weird that our two pg's in the abysmal 03-04 season are considered head coaching material!

Oh right....people want a coach who'll coddle the players balls and breast feed them as they tell them theyre the best ever...forgot about that. Damn me for expecting them to pick a coach that can actually coach right?...who wants that?

The fact that they followed them all and at the same time and in this situation says something. Come on, why would they follow Dudu.

I forgot about Jon Leuer.

D12 / BBD
BBD / Leuer / Donatas
Hedo
Jrich / CLee
Aaron / Duhon / Ish?

Besides someone reported that Harper or Clark could be envolved to work the salaries and both could be Hedo's backup.

What qualifies any of us to judge the coach selection? Sure we can judge players. But coaching candidates who haven't been a head coach? We see their resumes. And that gets em an interview. But as for actually determining whether someone can coach or not? Give me a break. We don't know crap.
