I remember thinking Grant Hill would help lead this team deep into the playoffs. Man, was I hilariously wrong!

If Hill was healthy, getting a deep playoff run or two (or three, or four) was already in the bag given how weak the EC was at the time. So you being wrong on that has more to do with a freak injury that no one saw coming than your judgment about Hill.

It was not hilarious. We all thought that. Hill was a top 5 player at the time. Had he not been giving terrible medical advice by the Pistons doctors and not put more stress on that fractured ankle it could have been a much different story.

We thought we had a top 5 player plus a young promising Tmac, who we didnt know would turn out that good, and thats formidable combination that could have challenged for NBA Finals appearances. The big issue would be our drafting, Gabriel and Doc did a terrible job selecting players in the draft. Anyways I got over the Hill thing years ago, the numerous what ifs and such.
