I would like to see Vaughn take Dwight, Shard, Turk, CLee, Meer and Reddick to the Finals. Magic would be very lucky if they ever see a coach of Stans caliber ever grace the Magic bench ever again.

Are you kidding? Didn't take a genius to make that run.

Stan is the Master of Panic. While Rafer Alston was completely ballin' us through the playoffs, as soon as Jameer could walk, Stan went back to him. Stan had a piss poor feel for letting guys play when they are hot. He had major trust issues that locked him up from allowing this team to take advantage of the depth we had. Gilbert Arenas has a great game in the playoffs, the next game, he gets benched for most of it. THAT is classic Stan Van Don't have a clue. Remember how he benched Bass in his first year here? Gosh that was pathetic.

1) Meer was an all-star and team captain and knew the system far better than Alston who just had a couple solid games!!!!

2) Gilbert Arenas had knee issues and couldn't even survive back to back games most of the time!!!

3) Bass wasn't very bright and the reason he was on the bench was because he was missing rotations and not playing the caliber of basketball needed for a Top 10 team in the NBA!!!

4) Anyone who doesn't recognize what Stan brought to the Magic is pathetic!!!

I always get passionate in my hate for Stan and I'd really like to move on. I'm glad we've moved on and we have my ideal guy in place at HC. I'm happy with that and I'm done with this thread. Carry on. Stan Best Coach Everzzzz!

JV's idea of developing players (from what I see) is let the players play loose i.e. whoever wants it gets it. I guess that's not terrible considering where we are as a franchise, but down the road that approach won't work.

Stan always emphasized practice. That's why his practices were so tough. If you showed up and proved yourself in practice then he would consider playing you. That's probably why he never played rookies which makes complete sense if you think about it.

Why would you think that? Our rookies were brought along very slowly and their time on the court was guarded very closely. If you noticed that when they were allowed to play, they played very well considering. But as soon as Nicholson started to waver, JV limited him once again. If his philosophy was to play loosey goosey, then Nicholson probably would've played a lot more. He was our #1 pick afterall.

Each case has their own merit. I don't think you blanket statement all young players together in one basket. This was Harris' second year in the league. Just like Vucevic. They didn't need to be babied along the same way Harkless and Nicholson did. Vaughn had certain expectations and a vision for Harris and nutured him along the way.

Hear it from Harris himself...

Harris, a 20-year-old forward who left Tennessee after one season, said his coach this spring gave him the green light to become more of a scorer.

"He trusted my ability and wanted me to be a leader on the floor. He's given me a lot of confidence in my game," said Harris, who scored 20 points Monday in a loss to the Chicago Bulls. "I think the positivity is a key factor for us, especially as a young team trying to get better."

Here's Kemba Walker talking about Mike Dunlap

Dunlap has been preaching defense throughout the preseason and hammering his players with 3- to 4-hour practice sessions to build their conditioning.

It seemed to pay off.

"Guys are really, really buying in and that's all it takes," Walker said. "It's about sacrifice. It's about buying into what your leader is preaching. It showed tonight. We made some huge stops at the end."

I just can't see JV sticking around for more than 2-3 years. Tank coaches don't last that long. I do have to say though, Vaughn's poor defensive schemes helped us get a lot more losses. Keep it up next year Jolly Jacque!
