Destin, you're kind of not very intelligent as a fan. I as a fan of the Magic since day 1, do not want to watch my team be stuck on a treadmill of mediocrity for a decade because it blew its last opportunity to draft a franchise player.

Do some research, and educate yourself on how rare it is for teams that do not draft a franchise player get to contention level. We need talent (big picture) not the instant gratification of a handful of meaningless wins.

I'm not a very intelligent fan? I went to the first Orlando Magic preseason in the team's history and had season tickets to the Magic for the first 8 seasons of the Magic. My wife was a Magic Dancer the first 4 seasons. I have been to over 200 Magic Homes Games and over 60 on the road in different cities. The only reason I do not have season tickets anymore is because I moved to Destin,FL to start a business.

So this is what it comes to... let's lose on purpose and pray that we get our "franchise player?????

So you are saying that Aaron Gordon is now currently officially our "Franchise" Player? Didn't we get him in the NBA's most amazing draft ever last season?? You people on here talked about this last god damn draft for two seasons prying to get Wiggins

"Let's tank so we can get the next Lebron Wiggins" Right?? Excuse me, the next Aaron Gordon.

So, let's tank to get Aaron Gordon - who has sucked so far

so, let's tank again after the all-star break and pray that we get a top 5 who gives a **** piece.

I get it.. you are the GM on your little Nintendo 2k game and this is the best thing for our franchise.

whatever dude. You would rather teach our kids to lose then having experience in a playoff birth. And you are calling me a very not intelligent fan?

You would rather have a nobody teaching to our kids the 2nd half of the season the fundamentals of NBA tanking over a 25 year proven coach who could spring life into this franchise and teach everyone involved from the ground up on how to win?

And I am not intelligent?

You truly believe that if we tank the rest of this season that the next decade of our franchise is going to be rings and Championships because we are going to get the next "Franchise" player like Aaron Gordon in the Top 5 pick

I don't even think that the **** that you are smoking even believes the nonsense that you are telling me.

I side with Destin on this one all day every day.

What's so classless? Magic fans have been bugging him for a couple weeks and he waited until Vaughn was fired to finally say something. Meanwhile Anez wants us to go after a coach who is currently under contract until 2019?

I just find it amazing that a lot of people on here think it is Ring or Bust - We can't even hold a jockstrap right now. People on here would actually like to tank instead of having a 30-40-50 win season and be relevant in the NBA. It is fkn mindboggling.

Call me (Please Use More Appropriate Word) but I hope we somehow turn things around in the 2nd half of the season. I guess I am an idiot for wanting the team that I love to win a few games. I guess I am an idiot for not wanting to watch my team tank.

I have watched every single game this season and I treat every single game like a Saturday football game... I just want to see our kids win. I don't care about the stupid lottery.

ezzzp would rather us suck, lose games, develop a losing environment and tank so that we can get the next Aaron Gordon. :banghead:

The ring stuff is stupid. Karl said he wants to coach another 3-5 years. That's perfect for us. Teach these kids to win, see how it goes, and then we can always move on later if necessary.

740 The Game is now following Coach Karl!

@740thegame

As for Anez, he was openly calling for Vaughn's job while he was still employed so he can get off his High Horse.

but the NBA 2k Playstation Managers on this forum need for us to lose tooler. It helps their online credibility. They have all built a dynasty playing their Sim City /Roller Coaster Tycoon . We actually have the chance to land the next Aaron Gordon Franchise Player if we keep losing!

The Magic are not hiring old ass George Karl. I listened to him on the radio today and he sounded like a drunk begging for a coaching job. Probably was drunk. He does sound desperate.

Certain posters never disappoint, It's like they have nothing but negative things to say. As for Karl, I hope he is our next coach.

You have no idea what Gordon will be. We have a 0.3% chance to make the playoffs this year, hate to break it to you. We have two choices. 9th seed in the east at best or continue status quo and likely get a top 5 who could be the next big thing. I'll roll the dice.

The Magic were amazing twice before both because of high draft picks.

And BTW, this site is called realGM and most of us are wannabe GMs here and on our "Nintendo".

I may have felt that way when I was 14 years old and just started watching the Magic on a nightly basis and was still learning NBA basketball. I wanted to be in the playoffs and feel relevant. But now, 13 years later, my philosophy has shifted. I feel like there's 1 winner and 29 losers every year. Winning 50 games and losing in the 2nd round has no value to me. If you're not that 1 winner, you need to do what you can do to become that 1 winner.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

So I guess we should lose 60 games next season as well

There is a process to being #1. Drafting, development, trades, experience. You have to take steps. We need more talent, playoff experience, and trades before we can be #1. You progress by checking items off the list by accomplishing them . Easy talent grab opportunity for us now that playoff experience is out. I was all about getting the 8th seed as soon as we finished last summer. After about a month it was clear we weren't going to make it and needed to shift priorities to the draft. Then our goal is playoff experience for a couple seasons followed by trades and talent acquisition for a run at a title.

I don't know that Scott Anez has the credibility or audience to remotely call George Karl's tweets classless so I don't see why he even goes there. Anez is a basic no name radio guy with low visibility and in the Twitter age if Karl wants to inject himself NATIONALLY into the conversation I say all pub is good pub.....at least ppl are talking positively about the magic again now that JV is gone.

As to the Billy Donavan thing...Billy is not a proven NBA coach which the organization has clearly stated they must hire, is under contract, and has built the Gators. The magic will not add to his legacy and it just seems strange because why use the local radio small platform to pine for someone who is not in the organizations interest

Process this and that, part of the process is getting better, winning. What's definitely not part of that process is "tanking" as many of you are OK with it, I can't understand the thought process of wanting to lose to be part of a lottery which not only won't guarantee a number one pick, but it won't also guarantee that whoever you pick will pan out. I'm done with losing and I definitely do not have a loser mentality, which is what some of the posters on this board are being accustomed to.
