When you overpay "potential".

many times that "overpay" has paid off too. Magic arent unhappy with the overpay they did with McGrady.

Wiggins had "overrated" written all over himself. Now he is worst valued max contract in nba.

no, he had potential and athleticism. Was so young, no one knew yet if he was coachable and had work ethic. and i would say Love's contract is up there with the worst valued one along with Batum and Chris Paul. I guess Wall's is a supermax, otherwise he would top the list

Vuc's high $ market drying up before our very eyes... great news for us in terms of contract negotiation

Just have to worry about Kings. We either keep Vuc on another friendly deal or lose him to an overpay.

I think Nik goes under the radar as a possible Vuc landing spot. Scott Perry connection.

well, we all knew he was close to a max deal coming out of Seattle. the point with him was giving him that extra year when we didnt have to. But yes, we did overpay. But while not a "star", i do think he was integral to our finals run.

He was one of the better players in the league at the time and best FA available that year, we also don't make a finals run without him, so yeah no regrets here about signing him

I remember being pissed that we gave Rashard all that money because we could have gotten Gerald Wallace cheaper. Definitely admit I was wrong there! We did overpay him a bit, but totally worth it with the results we got.

Looking good on the Vucevic front. Wish we could jump into the Kemba Walker sweepstakes though.

The Kings don't make sense to me... why pay top dollar for a C that doesn't quite fit and will need to take a backseat to multiple proven perimeter players? They're going to pay $25 million to have Vuc play the role of a low-usage C? Last rumor I heard said Kings were interested in short term deals with Jordan or Dedmon, two low-usage Cs... that makes a lot more sense for them. Vuc on a high dollar contract doesn't make much sense for most teams... at a more favorable contract the market probably opens up a lot, but at that point I imagine he'd just strike a deal with the magic.

They're reportedly going after Cousins on a short deal if they strike out with bigger names, which makes a lot of sense because they already have Mitchell Robinson who looked really good as a rookie... if that's their plan that does not sound like they're willing to pay top dollar (long term) for a C.

I think it’s more likely we lose Ross than Vuc but who knows.

I'm praying we can keep both. The East at the top is stronger than most years, but the bottom is horrendously bad and getting worse by the minute. I want this team to run it back and keep getting better/healthier and see how many wins we can get. I could see us anywhere from 4-8 in the playoffs this year depending on what Boston and Pacers do.

Poor Vuc. Wonder if he'll be grumpy when he doesn't get an offer for 20m+/yr. Hopefully he doesn't play grumpy.

He most likely will get 20m+/yr from either us or someone else.

If I were a Celtics fan I’d be getting quite frustrated. Walker, whilst an all star and good (not superstar) player, doesn’t fit with the timeline of their core guys at all.

I’ve long thought that losing Irving might be a good thing for them as it would give Tatum and Brown the opportunity to grow and develop on the promise they showed in Year 1/2.

I wouldn’t pursue a 29 year old Kemba if I were them.

The only team I am worried about in the Vuc sweepstakes is the Orlando Magic.

Losing Vuc is not something I lose sleep over.

Retaining Vuc on a bad contract is something we will quickly come to regret. If Orlando keeps Vuc, it must be on our terms.

If the Kings or anyone else wants to overspend then let them have Vuc.

Like or dislike Weham, the one thing they have not done is sign anyone to bad long term contracts.
