But we are going to get one of them without trading AG... why waste assets on garbage. At worst we trade AG at the deadline for a 2021 pick in the same range and have much better odds at a much better player.

AGs value isn’t getting any better the longer this FO takes calls on him. AGs game isn’t going to magically get better either.

Maxey Lewis Bane would walk in and likely be the Magic’s 4th best player... not sure I’d call that garbage.

This FO also isn’t trading anything of value at the deadline or else they’d re tool it up now and not waste 1/2 a year to not re tool. We could be 10 games out of 8th and theyd still push for a playoff spot.

I’m just done with this team if nothing happens, sorry for dragging it again.

Your logic isn't even consistent with itself. AG getting a majority of minutes at the 4 this season with Isaac out means he will be playing his "natural" position and should see a bump statistically, which would get more teams to look into trading for him. Per Zach Lowe: AG was considered highly valuable after the Raptor series. It doesn't take much to get teams to take a look when a guy has the athletics, the defense, and rebounding that AG has.

I am about a big a fan of Maxey as you will find on this board. I don't think he will be at 15, let alone 17, and even if he was he certainly wouldnt be the 4th best player on this team day 1. That is just such a silly statement. Lewis and Bane, in my opinion, don't sniff his jock and would be bench fodder for months.

From there Fournier, #15, and #8 might get Orlando close to the Warriors listening to Management offers for #2 and Mr. Trade exception.

Finally, Orlando could offer Gordon and next year's FRP for Oubre (if OKC is allowed to trade him).

This year - with Edwards as the draft pick, Ennis re-upping, and Clark and Carter-Williams resigning, the Magic is:

Fultz/Carter-Williams/LLE-vet
Edwards/Ross/LLE-vet
Oubre/Okeke/Ennis
Aminu/MLE-vet/Clark
Bamba/Robinson/Birch

The Magic is worse this year than if these trades had not happened, but the team is still a potential 8-seed. Key is that the Coach Clifford will be required to focus on developing these players. Would Orlando (again) be the youngest team in the league with that roster? It would be close.

..

why would Orlando trade AG and a first for Oubre? Oubre is not that good, coming off injury and only 1 year on his deal. that is not a good idea imo.

Guarantee Minny has offered JJ & 17 for AG and this FO has passed on it.

Wouldn't you pass it tho?
JJ is only attractive as salary dump.

You can't tell me that Cole Anthony/Josh Green/Mannion as return value for Gordon isn't terrible returning value.

After 6 years of investment in 4th overall pick you flush him for... projected backup PG :banghead:

JJ isnt some future piece, but has a decent value as a bench player and 37% from 3 isnt too bad. not just a pure salary dump

He is career 8 ppg, on 31% for 3 who turns 34 in Februrary. Yea, he is salary dump.

Oubre is not better than AG. People really forget how good he was between the All-Star Break and the COVID-19 shutdown.

If Vooch gets traded, it won’t be for another center. Vooch is more valuable than anything we’re being offered in trades right now. He’s an All-Star, value him like one.

He is also paid like one, and that is where the value lacks. How many teams can pay a center $26M, or more accurately want to spend that much of their cap on a center.

that 31% is dragged down by some early years. I look at the last few years as older players that have lost a little athleticism tend to become better shooters because they have to. 36% this past year. 34% last year, 31% and then 34%.

but whatever, continue to act like your opinion is always right and you know better than anyone else

Exactly.. 0 chance Vuc gets anything close to the deal that Jrue Holiday got for the Pelicans. C’s don’t matter in the grand scheme of the NBA and never will.

On a team devoid of talent like the Kings Magic Charlotte Cavs Detroit yeah he’s an all star. Nothing against Vuc he balled and got paid.

Speaking of value, I may have been way off on AGs. When we look at that Covington trade. Personally i would much rather have Covington than AG, both for his floor spacing, and his defense. AG salary $18M, with 2 years, Covington $12M 2 years. So based on salary Covington is a much better value and with better production.
Covington for pick 16, and what should be a worse pick next year (Portland adding Covington and Nurkic), which combined probably equates to about pick 10, and most reports this morning are saying Houston did well.

I thought AG was worth about pick 10-15. That might be too high. Maybe Minnesota 17 and JJ is more realistic.

If we can get Mitchell and the #8 for Vuc you do that without literally zero hesitation, Bamba is still dealing with Covid issues and we can bring him around slowly.

This will be a trade Orlando fans have been desperately asking for (trading vets for youth and picks) for that reason it's never going to happen but its good to imagine haha. Homerun in my book.

But hypothetically if this were to happen I will be trying my hardest to then flip Gordon + 8 to GSW for the #2 or offer Minny Gordon, #8 AND #15 for the #1

Magic fans will faint if all this action happened

We've got to snag Hayward if we can. Maybe even with Smart. Would be a home run. Gordon, Fournier and pick swaps could do it.

Boston doesn't make bad or even fair trades. They looks to swindle teams. If they can't, they don't make the trade.

I don't see Ennis returning. If he gets minimum again, might as well be on a contender. Bucks, Nets, LA team, or Golden State. Maybe Miami too.

Good. Now trade the vets and start the rebuild from the ground up. With Isaac out, we have a great excuse to give Bamba and Fultz all the minutes and touches they want... all while going for a top pick. And yes I know the odds suck now but it is what it is.

This was an easy decision for him, he's worth more than the minimum and will get a multi year deal for sure

Man we are going to be scraping the bottom of the barrel to try and replace Ennis. Iwundu might be the best available, since we don't have any money.
We should roll the dice on Josh Jackson.

We are going to have 1 functional center probably at the start of the season. What a joke. We will still not get a top pick and be in cap hell forever. Can't wait to hear the excuses from the front office their fourth year at the helm.

I'd rather take a shot at a 2nd round pick vs Iwundu on a multi year deal. Iwundu is a 1 year league minimum guy ala MCW
