It turned into league of players who average Wilt - like numbers as product continues to slip into Harlem Globetrotters clownshow with no defense , performed in front of causal half drunk fans who's only understanding of basketball is that somebody gets 2or 3 points if ball goes through net.

This is nba now. Biggest nba rivaly. Historical one. One that built a league. Just bunch of dudes jogging and shooting practice shots while being wide open. Transition where 5 players didn't bother to cross half court as guy goes for right layup ( something that kids solve first, at age of 6 at practice) .
Most energy anybody shown in this video was Jrue Holiday in first shot, when he saw opportunity to maybe padd easy rebound, if guy misses corner three, where closest defender is 25 feet from shooter

i didn't even bother finding play or even watch full video to know how game is played, i literally just took portion of a game to show how little anybody cares about anything that happends on defensive end.

Right, he just comes off as a real nice kid and i think that's one reason he's not as aggressive as we'd like to see. Like he's just happy to be in the league, so it was nice seeing him go off in Dallas hopefully there's way more to come.

Thats the type of character Weltman values for better or worse. Thats why most of our players have some kind of confidence issues. Good character to be a great teammate not so great to dominate other players in the league. You need both kinds and we get mostly the first type.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Both Paolo and Franz are focused on improving and they are. I’m not to worried about that anymore.

Saw it on IG comments and its hilarious to consider, Eastern conference allstar reseves would probably lose to Bucks, Clippers, Nuggets in 7 games series

The most comical thing is that they point to Orlando being better with him off the court than on it, lol. Two things with that: Orlando has a strong bench, and Mosley knows that and uses it to his advantage when the starters are out. Second, there was a recent point in time where Paolo was playing with a starting lineup of Black/Suggs/Okeke/Bitadze, or sometimes even Caleb Houstan, and they really expect him to be hella efficient when playing with that level of offensive talent and being the sole focus of the other team’s defense every game? Hilarious.

Advanced stats are useful when used in the proper context, but they don’t take into account a lot of different situations and scenarios pertaining to things like quality of teammates, spacing, the amount of times a player is doubled, etc. I hate when people just look ant box scores without diving deeper into it. Anyone expecting Paolo to be crazy efficient at 21 in less than two years in the league with the amount of attention he gets is nuts. All I’ll say is that the only meaningful addition Orlando has made in the past two years is Paolo, and the team has gotten exponentially better. Just saying.

So surreal. Franz will join him once the team takes the next leap.

Indeed. Franz is on the cusp. We are close to contending, just need to sign our Max Struss version in free agency, use experiment contracts to trade for a Kennard, and use picks on shooters.

Congrats to Paolo, hopefully it's the first of many such selections.

I never watched allstar games nor i will until they fix selection and make game watchable ( or even better- worth playing for something).

It's mockery that .500 team has 2 allstars and 27-19 team with 2 allstar performers has -zero.

Therfore i salute Jokic, best player in a world, for pooping onto that crapshow and scoring like 5 points last time (and scoring like 20 points total over 5,6 selections  )

Congratulation to Paolo.

And-1

I do not care about the All star game. It's boring.

I DO care about the all-stars. The new system that engages fans, the media, and team management creates a list of names that is both fair, and "what the fans want" (and that must mean somehting). I also love that Silver gets to spackle the cracks in this to replace injured players. Thus we get a nice list of players that we can all appreciate as "this season's best players".
I like that.

That these guys then play the least competitive game in the history of games: not interested. I would rather watch 24 "healthy" allstars play NBA-2K than watch the ASG.

He might have gotten it this year had we not had so many injuries. Including his own.

Who knows, maybe one day the all-star game will become more watchable than some of these regular season games.

Maybe Franz can get in if Embiid and Randle are ruled out. He has a few more games to prove himself.

League should cut the season to 65 games or less to make each game more important. Too many players coast until the playoffs.

no chance in hell the player's association would agree to that
