You guys are speaking out of skew based on what way you live and perceive things.

I'm not saying there are tons of 22 year old virgins, but there's probably more people than you care to acknowledge that are if they wish to remain that way until they are married. Trouble is, most people don't even attempt to make the claim. I certainly didnt.

On forgiveness, I agree it is preached. Let God judge his action not us. Too bad that assumes that we're as religious as Dwight is and that we practice it.
Well said.

I'm about as queer as the guy that lead FFX . Tell me he don't look gay (not that the game wasn't good though).

He's in touch with his feminine side, so what.

Here's that MadTV spoof. It's extremely old, but some may not have seen it.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I guess you don't care about following through with your beliefs?

Why isn't it a problem that someone who claims to be something violates a very important issue of that belief?

If this were a government official and he just "stopped practicing" certain things we expect out of him due to the constitution we'd be pissed at him.

This is basically the same thing. It won't affect us, but it hurts his image that he had tried to portray since before he was in the league.

Even if a government official stopped practicing something in the constitution but didn't harm us, he is certainly less trustworthy because of this action alone.

this will be so under the microscope, and he is being labeled a "bad role model for kids"

well as a man of god, I understand what he's done here...and it hurts a little deeper than maybe it might of had he not of tried to be a large religious figure...so he made a mistake against his faith, he committed no crime...

it's an unfortunate thing that there is a child with parents who will never be in a solid loving relationship...

but he is forgiven for his mistake, now he has to raise the child...and as long as he provides the child with warmth, love, understanding and raises him properly with the child's best interest at heart, theres no problem...

and I am sure Dwight will do right by the child...

Dwight did not get caught with drugs, he did not lie, steal, cheat, kill, rape or anything of the sort...plus he has admitted it and spoke his peace...he may at worst be guilty of being a hypocrite, and in this day in age, if that is his only crime to date, i say he's doing pretty well...and should still be looked upon as a role model...mistakes happen...now there is a new child on this earth...

Wow...

I really can't believe that.

I thought he was still a vergin, and wasn't that type of guy. Guess I was wrong. But still he is a role model.

this won't hurt his image unless a espn says anything. but still i doubt that is going to happen. they won't speak negatively about howard, after all they love him.

Well put.

I'm not going to be irritated with Dwight even out of the hour, but it is indeed unfortunate. I guess I had higher expectations of him to be a great figure to look up to and brag about being on our team.

He's still a good guy from all indications though.

Even if he's a terrible guy though, I'd even get over that pretty quickly. These people are athletes, I don't actually look up to any of them, and I don't really know any of them. In the end, my top concern is how well they perform on the court, field, ice, whatever.

If this were Jameer I'd be congratulating him (does he have a kid?)

He had a son (Jameer Jr) while in college (sophomore season, I believe).

I'm sure he is, just not as righteous as we were lead to believe.

It's fine, my opinion of his religious beliefs have simply now decreased. He's more "normal" now. Maybe that's a good thing.

Funny that the consensus all-time favorite Magic Dancer on here (unless Meagan has taken that title, although I remember Royce being very popular) gets taken by our golden boy.

You are correct.

Royce before Meagan came along was the most favorite Magic cheerleader in franchise history, so glad to see Dwight and I share the same taste in women. :)
Well we all were wondering why Royce disappeared off the face of the earth during her Heat season and we know why now, she was developing a 'friendship' with Dwight.
Congrats big man, now don't pull a Shawn Kemp and make things work.

Dwight!

Oh well.........

A 21 year old at the time that gave in to temptation.

It's not the end of the world, and certainly not the end of Howard's standing as either a person of religion or a basketball player.

Actually, it's really nobody's business except for the 2 people involved.

Just provide a father's support..........
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

In Dwight's defense, you're not thinking about protection (or anything else, really) when a hot girl is on top of you. Trust me...
