I love Daunte and would have be thrilled to see him play for a team with more talent around him. He obviously had much more NFL potential than Milton or Gabriel have, but I just don't know if we're fully appreciative as fans of how unbelievably great this current stretch of football is. I know I sometimes lose sight of it on a week to week basis.

They've scored 30 points in 29 consecutive games. They haven't lost a regular season game since 2016. They were a Milton injury away from potentially rattling off a 40 game winning streak.

We're experiencing the greatest run in UCF history by an extremely wide margin and that absolutely doesn't happen without McKenzie Milton.

We've reached the point where I'm seeing fans complain we didn't run up the score on Stanford haha.

I'm one of them, they got super sloppy and made the game look closer than it was. Unfortunately in the cynical world of college football rankings it matters, it shouldn't but people make it matter.

Daunte is the best overall athlete to come out of our football program. There are a few others who could claim that title but he was the player who changed our expectations for the program. He was just too early to be the greatest Knight and that isn’t his fault. Kevin Smith would be my #2.

Milton was I agree much better under Frost. No one was as good at the RPO as him. It was almost unbelievable how perfect he was at it with his timing and decision making. Huepel’s system imo didn’t use all of his skills but being an amazing QB he still excelled.

Dillon has so much poise in the pocket for a freshman. He doesn’t take off but is mobile enough and makes the right choices down field. We can thank Milton for pushing hard for our staff to recruit him.

I agree. We’ve been winning for so long that people are upset we don’t blow every team out. Students checked out after the first quarter and so did a lot of fans. Cincinnati and USF the year before were a way more intense atmosphere.

Agreed. Just blows my mind we've made it this far so quickly. 8-)

How is UCF able to recruit these Hawaii boys? What's the lure?

Changing pace: I want to see My Knights play defence against power-conference schools. At that point, UCF will get true confidence.

Sunshine is not enough, as UCLA and USC can offer this (as also being Hawaii closer locals).
QB in modern American Football has never been more important. You make an excellent point on Knight's scouting.

Milton came to Florida because of Frost. Our current coaching staff knew of Dillon because Milton was telling them about him. Dillon had committed to Army before us so distance was never an issue in his choice to leave Hawaii.

Yea honestly it's just circumstances that have allowed us to recruit MM & DG, nothing about UCF in particular. It'll be awesome if we can get a pipeline going, but right now it's really just to the two QBs.

Frost was high on Milton when he was at Oregon, but the HC wasn't willing to offer. So when Frost came Milton was one of his top targets (if not his #1).

As for DG i think that was largely just Milton really selling him on UCF and the coaches knowing DG would be a great fit in Heup's system.

It's actually quite remarkable to recall the rumors that Milton was homesick after season 1 and was considering transferring to Hawaii (I think). The fans weren't particularly kind after the bowl game loss. I always give my friend grief because he was so sure Milton was not a good QB because he had "small hands" (granted he fumbled a lot freshman year, but I chalked it up to freshman play, not hand size, haha).

I felt UCF wasn't trying as hard in the 2nd half as they did in the 1st half that they didn't want to run up the score too much so that's why Stanford scored some points in the 2nd half.

I thought the UCF vs Pitt game would be around 7pm than I checked its 3:30 pm. Saturday I'm going to the Gators vs Tennessee game so if I stay at that game the whole game, I'm most likely going to miss the UCF vs Pitt game when I get back home as the UCF vs Pitt game will probably be over.

if the trend continues the game will be "over" by halftime anyway. I keep managing to miss the first few minutes of the game, it's usually 14-0 already when I turn it on

I'm not typically a big proponent of running up the score but it seems like they're not leaving UCF much choice here, if they can get this game in hand they need to skull **** them.

That’s not really what he meant.

UCF was 1-AA in Dante’s first year and 1-A independent the rest of his career.

Had Dante come along later and been able to showcase his skills against better competition and in a conference that had a national ESPN television deal like the Knights have now, he’d have had a wider impact at the college level.

and that wasnt the question either. it was the "best player in the history of UCF"
