Luckily invest 92l doesn't look like it will be a hurricane, but still might cancel some games.

Re: Official Speculation Thread '19-'20 V: Purgatory
Fourniers expiring + #15 and future SRP for Lavine
Gordon for Mikal Bridges (Phoenix can absorb the remaining salary and if we can get a pick swap in there GREAT but doesn't make or break it for me).
Resign MCW to a 2 yr. deal
Starting Unit
Fultz
Lavine
Bridges
Isaac
Vucevic
MCW
Ross
Okeke
Aminu
Bamba
If this happens I'll be content for a long time.

As far as the Phx part, could I redirect your attention from Bridges to a slightly more used Oubre for Gordon??

Re: Official Speculation Thread '19-'20 V: Purgatory
I asked for Fultz and it happened. Shortly after, I started asking for LaVine. Please make it happen Weltman!!! AG, Evan and our first round pick needs to be on the table (maybe not all but some form of that with/without fillers).
Fultz
LaVine
Doesn't Matter (maybe Chuma lives up to the hype
JI
Vuc
I'm good with that as we continue to build.

No thanks, no interest in Oubre from this Magic fan. I could be the minority though.
He just has a season ending injury (our core is already injury riddled) and he's an expiring which we could lose in free agency when the entire NBA has cap to overpay which then will force us to overpay to retain services.
If we truly had interest we would have enough cap to offer him a reasonable contract come 2021 no need to give up the only real tangible asset we have to acquire him a season earlier.
Bridges is the only player outside of Booker on the Suns that I have interest in.

We're not getting LaVine for trash. AG will likely need to be included. That or young players like Bamba and Chuma.

Umm many Chicago fans feel differently.
20+ mill cap relief and a cost controlled near lottery pick is not trash for a player that fails to make his team mates or team better.
Especially, if Lavine behind the scenes has demanded a trade.

Go post that trade on their forum

Oubre - Gordon seems pretty fair. I personally think Gordon has a little more upside, just don't think the Magic are going to be able to extract that extra value in their current situation. He would be fun to watch, unleashed at the 4.

With 5.5pts, 5rbs,1.3blks, 36% from 3 and a 17.78 PER in 12.2 mpg while being in his 2nd year? No

Re: Official Speculation Thread '19-'20 V: Purgatory
There could be a simple 3-way with ORL-CHI-GSW
ORL: LaVine
CHI: Wiggins
GSW: Gordon
No picks traded, but they could be moved around.
Wiggins would give Chicago more long term security over an asset than either of Gordon or LaVine. He costs more, but performs about the same. He also seems happy losing, lol.

I'd throw our 1st to Chicago to make this happen. Prefer Lavine over Oubre.

I wouldn't throw our first away. I think there's going to be a potential surprise stud around our draft spot. I also don't rate LaVine that highly either, but would be ok with a change.

Re: Official Speculation Thread '19-'20 V: Purgatory
In a vacuum, I’m not a Zach Lavine fan.
But he is what this roster needs. We are built around defense and facilitator PG right now. We don’t have a creative scorer. We need a Zach Lavine.
AG, Evan, our #15/16, a future pick ... tell us what you want Chicago.
Edit:
AG + Evan + #15/16 for Zach Lavine + Thad Young
Chicago gets AG, a first round pick and cap space for 2021 as Thad has 1 extra year beyond Evan.
Orlando gives up a lot but we get the super scorer at SG we desperately need.

I got Lavine in the Wildly Overrated tier.

Re: Official Speculation Thread '19-'20 V: Purgatory
I definitely see both sides of the argument for a guy like LaVine.
On one hand, he’s only 25 years old and he’s coming off a season where he averaged 25.5 PPG with a +3.3 OBPM. That ranked just outside the top 20 players in the entire league and was 12th best in the entire NBA among non bigs. The guy can really score at at all three levels.
On the other hand, he’s statistically been a pretty miserable defender throughout his career and his teams have quite literally always been horrendously bad when he’s been on the floor.
I mean this is UGLY.

The Magic would have to ask themselves three questions.
Is LaVine capable of giving better effort defensively?
If not, do the Magic have a sound enough defensive system/enough defensive talent at other positions to hide LaVine on a nightly basis?
Is LaVine capable of putting up big offensive stats within the context of a winning basketball team?
He’s never done any of those before.
