I don't think his strategy has been boring at all, it's just you should wait until the right moment to make that big splash. Understand the team and our strengths & weaknesses first. And you better make sure the fit is great. For the Cavs, Garland & Mitchell were never going to compliment each other well, and they already had Allen & Mobley which were a rough fit together to begin with.

Considering we were really young last season, trading for Mitchell when he was available last season would have been grossly premature.

Opposed to when the Magic signed Rashard Lewis and it elevated us to contender status. That Magic team had a couple years playing together under their belt and it was the definition of a great "fit" addition we couldve made next to Dwight.
I'm debating if we need a Reshard Lewis type signing like the Dwight build or if we are more like the Shaq/Penny build and can get lotto talents like Nick and Dennis to play critical starters' roles.

What do you think?

I'm leaning towards Rashard Lewis level signing/trade, because Paolo & Franz as a duo wont be as effective as Penny & Shaq. I'd also like a guard who is able to put genuine pressure on the opposing guards offensively. In playoff series, that can really help wear out opposing star guard having to dedicate so much energy defensively.

I think Suggs is making a case to be considered core with Paolo and Franz. So that would give us a core 3, but I’m pretty sure a lot of people will want more offensive firepower than that. If the other backcourt option (Black, imo) or Suggs can become a gun 3pt shooter I think we would have a starting 5 with enough offense that can go toe to toe with anyone. Add in Goga/WCJ/Isaac/a rim protecting C and we have the ability to shut down their offense as well.

After that I think we want another 2 playmakers who can come in off the bench to alternate with Franz and Paolo, like Ingles and Cole are doing now. Rather than loading up the SL with another expensive star, I think we’d find better value in a cheaper scoring/playmaking weapon who can come off the bench. We’ve got that in Cole already, but Ingles will need replacing soon enough.

That wouldn’t be the splashy kind of move people want to see though.

Nope.

PePe said it would be impossible for Suggs to be anything but a bad shooter and a bust. He included many cherry-picked stats and confident assertions to back up his claims so it must be true.

Still holding my Scoot Henderson stock, guy had 23 points and 19 the game before.

And I know he will be a hot name at the deadline but man, Brogdon could help us.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Joining: Thompson ( nba record-14) and others Kobe, Lillard, Lavine, Steph and Donyell Marshall as only players ever to make 12 threes in single game.

But it's bit hilarious that nowdays you have new record broken -every day.

Doncic just surpassed Wilt in most 40 points triple doubles. He also surpassed DIrk with most 40+ points games on Dallas. Luka is not even in his prime

oh and Miles Bridges had plus minus of -58. It's probably some recrod as well.

And my boys Pistons are chasing history as well. 23 and counting.

What's hilarious is the Utah defense on him. Mosley would've cleaned that up in the first quarter and had someone glued to him the rest of the game. The scrimmage era is pathetic.

Best nba defense this year ( Wolves) by defensive rating, would be 5th worst in 2012 :D
Matter of fact historically pathetic 2011-12 Bobcats (7-59) allowed less points in paint than 29 current nba teams.

It's just aftermath of 3 point erruption and much faster pace.

There's a difference between fast pace and lazy defense. That's why the Magic have been so successful despite being a young team. They play hard in December when everyone else is asleep.

I can't believe how good SGA is. The build around SGA and Chet is going to be interesting.

Man Holmgren is good. Near 64% TS, +4,3 BPM and freaking 15 blocks over last 2 games , where he only played 25 and 32 min.
Can see pending 12+ blocks in single game.

Guy is delux Isaac.

Marshall is so random here. Watching the video, amazed how unguarded he was. At some point maybe having a player in the face - at all times - of the hottest hot player in a teams history? Just saying.

Man, Ja Morant is nice. What a game winner! I am just frustrated why Memphis stink so much without Ja. This didn't look like the 2nd best team in the west last year. "I am NOT fine with the west"

Time to buy some Clippers stocks.
9-1 in last 10

In past 15 games:
5th best offense
10th best defense
+8,6 net rating (3rd best).

Last 10 games- best team in nba.

Kawhi has been absolutely incredible, just dominant on both ends. And Harden is exactly the playmaker and shooter he needed as a partner. I really hope the Clippers can be healthy in the playoffs for a change, but it seems unlikely, this franchise is cursed.
