A lot of focus on this thread about mo Wagner and his option being picked up or not and the possibility of adding a different player through fa and the MLE. I find it interesting that mos option is 11 million and WCJ is 150k cheaper. WCJ goes to 18 and 19 million the following 2 seasons.

My question is who do you value more? Mo won't be back until around Christmas most likely but I wouldn't be surprised if he still plays more games than WCJ.

I think I'd still rather roll with Goga and Mo and send WCJ and #25 for a young center or backup point on a cheap deal and help with the apron space

Who is this young C? We ship out WCJ, our C rotation until January is Goga and the " kid-gloves treatment" JI...

I'm not sure but I don't think replacing WCJ production on a cheaper contract is the most difficult task. Id feel different About him if he was at 10 million for more years but his 18 and 19 million coming up are not worth what he brings 45-55 games a year

I know a trade can't happen now because of the salaries but once PB is signed to his extension would you prefer trading him for one of the guys you listed like Gianni's, AD, Sabonis, Mobley, JJJ, Siakim, Lauri?

Honestly, no.

I’m not high on the idea of sinking a max contract into most of those guys without figuring out how to maximize them on the floor. The value also doesn’t shake out with the timeframe. This is the roster as it stands.

Giannis is the outlier but he’s older and he too requires a specific roster to emphasize his skillset. AD is reaching past prime territory due to injuries. JJJ and Mobley are guys you add next to elite talent on offense, specifically on the perimeter.

Not sure Minnesota is incentivized to take on nearly $14M in salary for NAW (who they could just let walk) given their apron issues either.

They're only $12M below the 2nd apron, but that's with Randle and Reid both likely opting out (Reid for sure) and looking for raises over their salaries from last year.

Adding another $14M in Goga and Jett would put them in tax hell without tangibly upgrading them on the court.
