Official Speculation Thread (Pt.LIX Offseason Edition)

I wish I knew what the thread was from when we traded JJ and these guys were in there crying about us getting Tobias and Doron instead of getting Milwaukee's 1st round pick. It was mind blowing.

I was telling them we just got BETTER then their 1st round pick in Tobias and Lamb.

I'm not gonna lie I didn't follow Tobes THAT MUCH...I knew what he could do, & seen him go off in some college games a couple times, but when I saw D Lamb, I said...."We def got a player for the future with him".

All these guys were cracking jokes & leaving those goofy footy sock pics in the gamethreads & quoting me on it when he would make a mistake, & cracking on his socks & stuff.

I remember some questioning his SEXUALITY cause he likes fun & different kind of socks....SMH....CHECK MY FEET, I aint wearing whitie tighties (foot game)...I like to change it up with the socks.

I swear some ppl on here gotta be 75 yrs old + the way they act sometimes.

I never backed off my belief in him....Guy can ball.

I hope the guy turns out to be a met positive, even of just as a backup 1/2. But for the sale of contrariness:

He hasn't shown much yet, certainly hasn't proven anything toward being a real ballet that has a place on the team for the long term. He certainly didn't show me much as a playmaker last year. Limited time of course, so maybe there's something there, but lets let's dial down the hyperbole be honest.

There's a reason guys like Lamb are selected in the second round, and the chances of them becoming impact players are very slim.

Some of us who actually WATCH the players who are up & coming, gotta let some fans who aren't as invested informed.

Yea there are reasons guys like Lamb get drafted second round....they get OVERLOOKED on a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team where he was a KEY PIECE & they look at the other young guns.

It's fine though.

No expectations here though....RealGM Magic barely knows who the guy is.

My favorite summer league of all time was the year Gortat was in it. I was so freaking excited after watching him play.

I've been indifferent on lamb since he came over in the trade. He hasn't really had a chance yet and I do remember Hennigan mentioning that they wanted lamb so I have some hope for him.

I was one of those guys, but it was honestly all in good fun. Guy wasn't getting any burn and hadn't proven anything yet... and he still hasn't. We had two PGs playing ahead of Lamb, so I don't think many people really cared to criticize his game as a third stringer like you're making out. I remember a lot of people saying they hope he gets minutes and gains confidence, so they could see what he's like. Some just said they don't see him being good enough for the NBA. He was basically seen as a bonus on top of getting Harris. If he works out as a backup or even third string PG, great; if not, no big deal.

I always liked Lamb. Looking forward to seeing if I fall in love with him. He could always rain 3s. Hopefully he can become a Mario Chalmers type.

I see Lamb as having a JJ Redick type of career, not a star player, maybe not a sure fire starter type, more of a high level luxury part 6th man/part time starter if he pans out or gets his swag back.

He shot the 3 well with us. Not so much with the Bucks, but it was a small sample size. At the very end of the season, when he was actually being somewhat aggressive and showing a belief that he was, in fact, a professional basketball player, he wasn't half bad. I'll be interested to watch him this coming week. He's easy to forget about when talking about our young prospects, but hey, now it just becomes his job to prove y'all wrong!
