It's really that possible Lakers' 2nd rounder that worries me the most. You want to have a deep draft file and be very prepared for 10 or 15 potential prospects at that slot. There could be multiple guys that slip and we need to be ready to make a great draft pick there.

If the Magic keep both their 1st's, then flipping both 2nd's makes sense. One thing for a team looking to build depth, Orlando could trade these two 2nds for a projected late 1st in 2018. A team like Cleveland or San Antonio might go for this.

He grew up an LA fan and has openly said he plans on only playing for the lakers or the pacers. This has been widely reported.

We won't be a 'top 4 team in the east' for as long as this roster permits.

He has said that? I didn't see anything about it. I knew he was an LA fan but the last thing I saw him say was he wanted to be the first to bring a championship to Indiana.

If I remember correctly, one of the last Zach Lowe podcasts (as well as the Woj Podcast with Bobby Marks) Windhorst and Marc Stein basically said those are his only two choices at this point. If he remains eligible for the super max it makes things more interesting, but that would be his only reason for not going to LA.

He isnt going to openly say anything, but you can read between the lines. He wants to either go back to California or take the money and play another "not fun" season in Indiana.

Don't kill the messenger. I don't get the LA thing either, but I get that its home and I guess endorsements would make up for money he would be missing in Indy.

Also I think some of us are just trying to justify the likelihood of losing the future Lakers 1st. I still say give me the first rounder all day.

I really don't think it's a lock the Lakers will be good in 2019. Yeah they can get Paul George or someone like him, but it's not in stone, and he's not exactly really carrying the Pacers right now in a terrible Eastern conference. A lot can happen in 2 years, and in a season.

I'm still hoping Lakers get out top 3.

You can dream for that scenario I guess. No way PG loses millions without taking the super max and / or decides not to go play at home with endorsements over coming to Orlando to just to play for Vogel LOL... if you believe that you are a true homer.

Well the Lakers certainly won't be a top-10 team even if they make the playoffs. So yes a is in the 15-20 range has much more value that a high 2nd.

Plus in 2019, the Magic should be looking for cheap depth in their own playoff run.

As posted before, the Lakers at 2, 3 or 4 are basically a coin flip to fall out of the top-3. So it doesn't matter that much for Magic fans. What would be awful is if the Lakers were worse than the Nets. What would be excellent is if somehow the Lakers got to 5th worst (very unlikely).

Honestly I've given up on the 4th spot. We still got 2 games vs the Nets and we play Philly. We are finished. This team has picked the wrong time to find their stride. At this point all I can hope is that we hold on to the 5th spot and pray for lotto luck. If we don't at the very least walk away from this draft with Monk this season is a failure from all angles. Amazing how quick things can change. A month ago I was getting exciting about choosing between Jackson and Issac. I just can't believe we are still trying to win games. Its mind boggling :crazy:
