They should win more than a few down the stretch.

Bad, bad decision.

They got two 1st picks and a 2nd pick on their roster, two of them panned out fine so far. If the're not gonna start winning now, when?

Next season when they add another Top3 player instead of sending their pick to GS.

They never won lottery in their franchise history and they had to move team just to make season playable. Silver will reward it. Just like nba alway rewarded moving teams in past.

the lottery is not fixed. A company is not going to risk their billion dollar reputation certifying results that are fixed. not saying it couldnt have happened in the far past, but a Big4 firm isnt putting their rep on the line for that

and that company went out of business. But they were also complicit and making money off it. No one is making money certifying the results of a draft lottery

In going from the worst record to the 4th worst record, Minnesota's odds of keeping their pick has fallen from 40.1% to 36.6% Tanking doesn't do as much when your pick is only partially protected.

The really questionable decision this season has been how committed Houston has been to the tank, when they only get their pick if it top 4, meaning finishing last doesn't help them any more than finishing 3rd worst, and is only 12% better odds of them keeping if they finished 6th worst. They started 11-10, and with their win a couple nights ago, they are up to 5 wins out of their last 42, while constantly sitting young guys.

I can see the logic and I completely disagree with it. Quantity of young talents are far from being a concern, unlike developing competitive spirit and winning mentality. Instead of playing the lottery to keep the pick this season they should have been gunning hard to turn it into high teens pick.

Minny adding another top 3 pick, particularly Cade, Suggs and Mobley, would give them instant help but also give them another major building block if KAT gets sick of losing and demands a trade sometime soon.

I wouldn’t be trying to max-out their tank, but I’d be wary of dropping any lower than 3-4.

Knowing that I'd be losing my pick if it falls outside the top three, I'd do anything I could to just go ahead and lose the remaining few games of this season.
Towns wants out anyhow and they'll need to replace him soon.

Typical magic style if we fall out of top 5 and miss out on a potential franchise player by 1 pick again.

On the Bulls pick, heartbreaking loss by the Wizards. Up 2 with 10 seconds left to end in a loss. But Chicago also lost and the Pelicans won (breaking the Mind 4-game winning streak). So, whereas this was a poor day for the Magic pick, it was a quite good pick for the Bulls pick.

The Bulls is also 3-games out of the play-in with only 8 games left.

Imagine finishing at #6, with 3 teams jumping ahead of us and one of them being the Bulls, we would end up with the #9 pick and that's it haha

Best possible scenario...we win out, Anthony, Hampton, Bamba, Wagner, Okeke look like All-Stars and we win the lottery anyway.

Plus, CHI hands us #5

If only we won as much as Toronto, Sacramento or even Chicago and we'd be golden. Top 4 picks are up for grabs and lottery decides who gets them, tanking only sets the floor, wether it be 6th or 7th pick.

Well obviously that would be great! We all want us to be a contender. But there’s no shame in admitting that the odds of us getting there are better with a high draft pick (at least top 5) than with the group you pointed out.

I still have faith in Fultz (yeah I know I’m in the minority here) an JI. Add a top 5 pick to that and some of the young guys and we have a solid foundation for the next few years.

Chicago is either ending up top 4 or we get their pick at 7-10 ish..
