seriously?

ersan ilyasova - ever heard of him?

dont we have the almost the same exact player in ryan anderson? jj is one of the only players other teams may want, if im trading him, im looking to address a need and not duplicate talents where we're actually good at.

i disagree completely

ilyasova is a much better athlete who can cover the 3/4/5 legitimately and is a better rebounder and defender than ryan - if i had to pick one of the two, i'd pick ilyasova to resign in the offseason and flip ryan (whose stock is higher right now because ilyasova has been quietly stuck in milwaukee) for another quality piece. plus turk+ersan have all that international chemistry between them and ersan is skilled/athletic enough to be both a dive AND pop option when turk is running pick and roll

Yuck.

ilyasova will not not getting paid more than glen and we did afford glen. also we would have his bird rights.

seriously though, the trade as it is does not make a lot sense. we should be unloading glen for this to work. barea can get to the rim, but we really do not need/want him.

ersan is no where near ryno level of potential, he is streaky. he is basically a smarter earl with better fundamentals and a more consistent drive. you do not expect ersan to average 14 a game, you want him to hustle hard, grab offensive boards, be a team defender and hit the open J at 37%.

They're not the same player at all. Even if they were who the hell wouldn't want two Ryan Andersons? He already carries our offence now we have two? Count me in on that.

According to longtime NBA writer Roland Lazenby, the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets have agreed to a trade of Pau Gasol for Kyle Lowry and Luis Scola.

Lazenby: “It seems we’ll soon be getting news that Gasol has been traded, no details confirmed, but he’s apparently gone.”

The reason for the hold-up is that Lowry is currently in a New York hospital with abdominal pain.

I want to stress that my sources have not, as of yet, confirmed this story. However, it is being reported on some media outlets.

More as it develops…..

Why does Houston seem so hell bent on helping the Lakers? I'd love to have Lowry on this team........

Funny how this league works. Kobe demands a trade, and a team literally bends over backwards and rapes itself to help the Lakers.

Dwight demands a trade, and we get owners talking about "We'd only trade Ellis for Dwight" (KNOWING that he won't stay there, which defines stupidity) and others won't even pick up the phone. How much longer until Stern is gone again?

because then you'd have 2 expiring ryan andersons that you'd have to pay for after this season. also it is rumored ersan wants to go back to turkey or wherever, so you're trading redick for barrea and a ersan rental most likely.

It doesn't matter if stern is gone because silver is right behind him and is virtually the same person

So they upgrade at 2 positions by giving away their washed up PF on a max deal. I wouldn't trade Lowry alone for Gasol. Houston is stupid as hell.

"Michael Beasley, Daniel Orton, Justin Harper, Anthony Randolph and Orlando's first-round pick to Milwaukee; J.J. Redick, Beno Udrih and the rights of Fran Vazquez to Minnesota; Jon Brockman, J.J. Barea and Ersan Ilyasova to Orlando"

If we got Ilyasova, I would start him (he can shoot the 3 a little and is a better rebounder/defender than ryan) and would even consider flipping ryan for some more pieces -

this trade would also free up time for von wafer to play legit rotation minutes as a off the bench attack the bucket type of scorer

We get the best player in the trade while moving a lot of untapped value. Fran is one of the top non-NBA centers in the world, while Harper cost us two 2nd rounders, and of course our own first for this years draft. We lose our 3rd best player but we get back the Bucks best player in Ilyasova. Barea and Brockman would be interesting pieces too, as Barea could force Duhon out of the rotation. Does 28 mpg from Ilyasova and 18 mpg from Barea count for a gain in wins when if you subtract 28 mpg from Redick, 23 mpg from Baby, and 18 mpg from Duhon? I think it does for sure. The question then is how long-term of a fix can this be worked out to be, a la will Dwight and Ilyasova re-sign with us.

And eryiq do you really believe illy is the best player on Milwaukee? Over Jennings and a healthy bogut? You must be joking?

i don't think gasol is washed up. if he can get his mind right (he IS mentally weak though) he's still a top 20 player and can have that production for 2-3 more years. but yea, LA still wins big in this trade by getting lowry and scola -

Hopefully Bogut or Kaman can make their way to Golden State, and we can help them #WishfulThinkingOfAMontaSupporter although it does make a lot of sense.

Over Bogut, no, but he is hurt so I don't really consider him in the calculus tbh. Over Jennings, yes. I see Jennings as still trying to play his way into the all-star game and I'm not entirely sure he'll ever be that player. Simmons said that Ellis hadn't proven he could be a contenders #1 or #2 guy and I think that is doubly true about Jennings. That he can be that guy is very enticing and valuable in it's own right, but right now with the team we have and with the team the Bucks put out there night in and night out Illy is their best player for us to grab in a trade, and he'll come much cheaper.

I agree with eryiq. Bogut is almost never healthy. I can't remember the last time he played. And Jennings doesn't do anything to make his teammate better, and he takes a large volume of shots and shoots a terrible percentage. Ilyasova has a nice mid-range game, can shoot the 3, finish at the rim, and his rebounding has been off the charts. He's been a sleeper on my fantasy team.

Anyone on the wizards roster is available if we take Blatche back according to rumours.

There's a couple guys I wouldn't mind on that team - but I would take Blatche and all his problems to dump some of our toxic contracts

Nothing on the Wizards' roster seriously interests me except Wall who they obviously won't deal. Blatche is a turd with a bad contract and guys like Nick Young and Jordan Crawford are ball hog scorers.

I would do Blatche, McGee as backup C, and Nick Young. doubt we could get them though, except for Blatche.
