What are you talking about, that corner 3 pointer Paolo missed is a shot ANY professional basketball player should make. And before that he missed another countless lay up on a drive.
That was a game and he **** it up for us.

Man reading these comments feels like people really think these guys are robots out there. One thing that’s been consistent so far is our team defense is solid. Let the players and coaches figure some things out.

Tough loss. We defended as well as you could, but spacing continues to be an issue in the half court. Just really tough for anyone to get anything going on a consistent basis. I didn't love the last 2 plays. Didn't love the idea of Fultz drawing in the defense to kick out to Suggs to drive into Anthony Davis. Nor did I like Wagner settling for a shot 6 feet behind the 3 point line with 8 seconds to play. AD, Lebron, and Russell just played a better game than our 3 best guys. They made the key plays down the stretch to win the game. We had our opportunities to counter (my heart sank at that missed corner 3 by Banchero) but just didn't capitalize.

It’s more AD.
Paolos whole game is being a giant mismatch. Doesn’t work against him when he’s an even bigger mismatch. He needs to develop a shot.
This. He got 5 points easly in streach Wood was on him, but Davis either is THAT good or (and?) Banchero got intimidated.
Davis met him few times at rim and took him out of game.
Paolo spends too much time fishing for fouls to bail him out of bad shot attemps, when refs don't call, it looks ugly.

AD was at his best and Bron was bombing threes. It's a miracle we were up as long as we were.Last Guardian wrote:fateis007 wrote:Paolo getting shut down pretty much was the difference, oh and the obvious ref bias. My god, did AD even get one single foul called him the entire game? He had about 6-7 questionable no calls defending the rim.
Eh AD just played elite on both ends.

You 100% take out Paolo. He can’t shoot and played an atrocious game. We needed a three and we left our shooters on the bench. No way people can seriously justify it lol.
What team takes arguably their best player off the court? lol. That doesn't happen.
Paolo is not our best player. It also comes down to knowing the situation. Leaving your shooters on the bench when you need a three is legitimate madness. Not to mention what kind of play did we even attempt to draw up? Franz just chucked an awful shot from deep when we had plenty of time to run a play. Preferably for the guy that was automatic from three.

Positive takeaway is that Orlando’s defense is real and we are a pretty deep team.
Offensively they have some work to do.

Suggs and whoever was the 5th guy you didn't mention.
Bro Wagner took the last shot and out of pure hustle Suggs got 1 more and you want to grill him? He manufactured a shot they should never have had and it was closer to going in than Franz'.

Jalen was trying to draw a foul that was the mistake.. he'll learn from it.

Had 16 more shots than them and didn't take advantage. We had a chance to blow it open in the 3rd but played sloppy and the Lakers took advantage.

If it were me, the very first order of business would be a consolidation trade.
Package 3 or even 4 guys plus draft picks and actually go out and get a higher end starting guard or a higher end forward capable of playing 20-25 really good minutes a night off the bench.
Don’t move any of Franz, Paolo, Suggs, Carter, Black or Jett. That’s your core group.

The end of a game like this one is why you drafted Paolo. Unfortunately it wasn't his night so you couldn't in good conscience go there. His Jumper doesn't have any snap to it. There is something definitely wrong with it.. whether it's injury or a change in mechanics in order to shoot the 3 better.

I do wonder what it's going to take for AB and Jett to get minutes other than just injuries. I can't imagine two lotto picks are just going to rack up DNPs all season... especially on a team that is no where near contending.

If this game didn’t make you love Jalen Suggs.
I don’t know what to tell you.
People hate the nba because these guys don’t care during the regular season. This guy is fighting for every possession and weeping because we aren’t winning.

The depth is subtly a bit of a curse too though if Mosley insists on playing 10 guys with 5 reserves at the same time *and* isn’t playing either lotto pick.
That whole pesky “were not purely developing, but we’re also not going all out trying to win” thing.

You can feel the breakout coming. He had that game in the bag tonight that's why he was so distraught. Dump it off to WCJ instead of draw a foul and get a stop and the game is over.
