athletes suck, go for prospects with skills instead

at this level, you should be able to find an athlete with skills ...you can definitely trade for one that you've seen in action.

Mcneeley was shooting around 38% from 3 before his ankle injury wear he had to wear a boot and was out 5-6 weeks. He ended the year shooting 4-26, which dragged his percentage down. He looks like he's a Franz level ball handler and playmaker.

You sure you’re not looking at someone else? Maybe Knueppel?

I’m not seeing that anywhere.

Ok. Good takes…I DO respect those guys. Maybe McNeeley is the connector, Ingles, Turkoglu type that could juice our shooting and secondary playmaking…back to the trade board :D

Potentially role for the season has allowed us to even have a chance at him. Calling it now.... He's going to be a riser in the draft.

Yeah I think I saw a mock that had him 6th recently (I think the Ringer), which is probably ambitious, but he definitely could rise.

My main goal is still hoping a center or guard drop to us, or trading the pick for good value. But if those two things don't come to fruition and they have to take BPA even if it is a wing, he is a guy I would definitely look at. He can play 4 and we don't really have a true backup 4 anyway. Not necessarily ideal, but if like Jakucionis, Sorber, Jase or Fears don't fall and they want to take BPA instead of reaching I wouldn't be mad at it, though I know many would be

For me I was like ... "Man.... If we came out with Sorber and Bryant ... That would be an awesome draft for me"

He gives me .... Tracy mcgrady vibes with his size, shooting, decent handles... Defensive capability... tracy McgradyToronto before he became T-Mac Orlando... Before people start losing their s***. Haha

I’ll take all the Tracy Mcgrady vibes that I can get sir.

If either Sorber or Maluach is at 16, we have to draft one of them.

If both are available at 16, who would you rather want?

VFX wrote:This roster already has a lot of guys that are 2's that pretend to be 1's
I dont think we need more of those guys combined with the facts:

-KCP is solidly a "2".
-AB isn't a "point guard" 90% of the time.
-Suggs best year statistically was at "2"

Next year and into the future Jalen needs to be slotted into the 2 full time and they need to go get a slick handling point guard who can shoot, period. Move KCP to the bench for next year.

If Orlando is actually looking at POINT GUARDS they need to be able to to POINT GUARD things.

I like Fears, but hes going top 10. A lot of his numbers dont WOW me, but he knows how to move the ball and operate a pnr.

If I was in the front office I would move mountains to draft Fears. From day 1 in his NBA career he's going to be one of the fastest players with the ball in the league. I think he's going to be a really really good player for a long time. Jase Richardson would be second on my list.

Hmmm one of the mock drafts has the Magic taking Nique Clifford from CSU. Man he is an extremely interesting player. Like if he reaches his ceiling he could be a legit 2nd option and secondary ball handler. Great size.. kind of like a scottie pippen Doug christie type. He has a very high ceiling.

Watching Steph Curry play makes me think we shouldn't pass on Clayton.

Oh dip I also see the team taking Walter Clayton Jr with their 2nd pick. Clayton at 25 is absolute robbery.

A Clayton Clifford draft would be insane. I don't know where that would leave Black though. He would be fighting for minutes. This is a great draft.

Clayton is a little bigger than Steph. I don't see any problem with him being too small.

Probably a little against the grain, but I personally have Sorber rated higher. Both would be great value there IMO.

He's a better finisher at the same age. I don't see size as being an issue. He's 6'3" a ++ finisher for his size but a big game player.

Strengths: Combo guard who is one of the best pure shooters in the draft class … Thrives in catch and shoot situations … Has a quick release, making it harder to get a hand in his face when he shoots … Can also shoot off the dribble … Typically uses screens to get his three-point shot off the dribble … Can extend all the way from 25+ feet out, so the defense must be aware of his whereabouts at all times … Has a sneakily effective mid-range jump shot … Hits mid-range shots off the dribble in a ball screen action … Can get to the nail after beating his defender and knock down amid range shot, which is another part of his game that keeps the opposition on its toes … Has a tight handle and is extremely quick in transition … Loves to run the floor and create fast break opportunities for easy baskets … Has developed a a pick and roll facilitator … Quality assist to turnover ratio at near 2 to 1, 4.3 to 2.3 … Can score at the basket if the opportunity is there… Always looks to get to his right hand to score … His 6’4, 190 lb frame also helps him finish through hard contact … A reliable free throw shooter, shooting over 80% in three of his four college seasons … Although his assist numbers don’t jump off the page, he is a solid passer. .. Has a high basketball IQ and can find open teammates … Always has the ball on the last possession of a tight game … He is clutch in late game situations when his team needs him most … Good defensive player. On defense he always has active hands and is looking for deflections and takeaways, which can turn into easy fats break points … An explosive leaper who has converted some impressive dunks in senior season …
