I have always been a MCW guy but after watching him play for the first time he just seems like a great fit. He can play great defense he can finish at the rim. His shot needs work but that kind of stuff is fixable especially if you have the commitment and with this kids motor i think he can develop into a top10 PG in this league

Drafting Smart would be securing the Magic's next team captain. His leadership qualities would fit in well as being one of the early pieces of a rebuilding team. With Jameer's contract up in a couple years, this is another reason I would like Smart if that's where our pick falls.

Plus, there's no way I want him playing over Vucevic and there's no way I want him playing PF.

If we want a post player, then Anthony Bennett is the guy we need. If we go PG, then it's between Smart and MWC. ...and honestly, MWC has started to make me believe in him lately where I wasn't always a fan before.

yeah Dwight Howard was a pretty terrible player, who had a similar skillset to Noel at the same age

That's the worst comparison I've ever seen. Oh my.

So anyways... I'm sold on Marcus Smart. It's him or bust. Period.

I would compare Noel to a combination of Noah and Larry Sanders.
Smart / Micic / D. Wright
Wiggins / Exum / J. Adams
Parker / K. Anderson / Mcdermott
Randle / Vonleh / Stokes
Embiid / Nurkic/ Tavares

Marcus Smart can be like a Billups/Deron Williams hybrid.

Marcus Smart after beating KU

Edit: Learned that Smart once said that the backflip is his signature move after a big win.

Here's him winning a dunk contest last year.

Would be cool to see that at the end of games at Amway.

We'll just draft the entire AP All-American Team.

@chadfordinsider: Incredible MT @JayBilas: Victor Oladipo, in 45 possessions guarding 4 different players, gave up only 4 points

Not likely to affect us. We won't draft Ledo unless we trade Harkless for some reason first.

Ledo and Harkless was on the same AAU team i believe and apparently Harkless ran Ledo off the team. From what i hear Harkless went at him (basketball wise not fight wise) and Ledo backed down but no one really knows for sure. If i was GM i wouldn't really care honestly Ledo is a talent and if i could snap him up i would regardless of how Harkless feels about it, he's a professional

Ah. I remember this topic now.

Two grown men playing professional basketball with similar aspirations aren't going to throw fits over playing on the same NBA team. If they really didn't like each other in the past, they'll get over it. If not, that speaks volumes to their professionalism or lack thereof. Unless Ledo is pulling a Delonte West, there's really no reason for any of these guys to be opposed to be playing together. From what I read, Moe just had/has a competitive chip on his shoulder and wanted to prove to people that he's the best player coming out of NY. So he took it to Ledo. No problems there. Nowhere else have I read that there is burning animosity between the two. And I find it really hard to believe that Rob is consulting with each player on our team about their feelings toward their future teammates.

I'd be open to the idea of drafting Ledo if we got another pick in the mid to late 1st round.

http://nbadraft.net/players/anthony-bennett

That's who nbadraft.net has us picking at 4 currently. He has nice shooting touch and handles for a bigger guy..

all of the knocks against him are critical in my opinion as it makes him sound lazy which isnt something this team needs right now, besides we already have nich who is just as talented imo

Bennett is an intriguing prospect. Has some serious length and ahtleticism with a good motor. Also has a nice shot. I know we have Nicholson but if he was the best player on the board it would be hard to pass him up. Maybe in Vaughn's crazy lineups Bennett getting some burn at both forward positions could work out.

Edit because I don't want to double post:
It would be cool if Steven Adams came out this yr. He's raw but if he did come out he could be the Drummond of this year. He's a an elite physical specimen 7" 250 lbs with a 7"5 wing span. I think if he wasn't on Pitt he probably would be a little farther along.

im all for taking the best player available regardless of position so if henny thinks hes the BPA i will be glad to have him but it sounds like he has alot of lazy habbits that could hinder development
