Where does this whole "Westbrook's jumped the shark" narrative stem from?...27/8/7 last season playing next to possibly the most ball-dominant player in the history of the league. Three (3!!) previous seasons he averaged a triple double.

It happens really quick with ball dominant guards that get old and want to continue dominating the ball.

We're a playoff contender already. The last 2 years when he averaged triple doubles, OKC only won 3 playoff games. We've won 2 in the last 2 years.

Not me, at the end of the day we'd use our assets and wouldn't be much better. I think at midseason if we arent close to the playoffs, we should start trading off veterans and let the young guys play. Vuc, Tross, AG, and Fournier would probably net us 4 or 5 first round picks. Plus our pick would be high.

Yeah.... i'll have to pass too. would be some good excitement in the moment.... buuuuuut.... really good chance after we take away some pieces...we will be playoff contenders annnnnnnnnd bumped AGAIN in the first round. He's just not a catalyst to that level of success in my opinion. and the worse thing would be....trading important pieces and then after a year realizing that it ain't working and once again his value diminishes because of perception, age, etc. lol... we find ourselves giving up key players and picks.... then next time around gets a 2nd round pick for someone to take a $41 mil contract... or us having to send picks to get him off the books.

That contract for Westbrook is a killer but he's being criminally underrated here. He'd make a team a 7th or 8th seed in the East on his own. I still don't think of him as a championship kind of player but he's still a whole other level above anyone on our team.

I'm not in love with the current Magic roster by any means. That being said, I don't get the desire from many Magic fans to trade for Westbrook. I would imagine the Magic would have to give up quite a bit to acquire Westbrook and it feels like a lateral move, honestly. Westbrook is 32 and since Durant left OKC, he seems content to chase stats on teams that are barely playoff teams. All the rumors coming out of Houston had him frustrated that his stats dipped while there.

I'm not saying he's a bad player, I just don't see a scenario where he helps the Magic on the court. I guess he'd sell a lot of tickets and jerseys in the short-term. So, there's that.

If we sit on this roster all season (no trades) and land with a mid-FRP then there needs to be a fan driven push for the removal of key decision makers. End of story.

I would swap Fournier for AG. I live with a PF rotation Okeke/Clark/ and maybe Birch.. also we'd have extra roster spots. We could bring in a vet like Taj Gibson.
