but still, melo is top 12. lowry MIGHT be top 30 if he keeps this up.

Does anyone know the details on a potential Hawks + 76ers trade?

unless you would trade dwight for jrue OR turner/ lou/ nocioni's expiring, and our 1st... then theres nothing that philly would do because they arent going to be willing to gut their roster

Yeah he has a bacterial infection that is going to keep him out for 2-4 weeks. Even so, that is a great trade for us.

if this was on the table the Lakers would have jumped on getting Lowry. They have him as an untouchable right now not just because he is sick

Man, i am having the worst week as a sports fan. The Magic are a mess and will seemingly lose their best and only super star. The Dolphins can't land Peyton Manning, and whats worse he might be headed to Denver and get my favorite player Tebow traded to a team that might want to use him as a fullback or something. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

But they are still be 3rd in the East with Heat and Bulls there, plus 76ers, Pacers, Hawks will be in the mix as well. So Brookyln will be still be in the talk but not going to pass the Heat and Bulls for a while.

I'd do it for Holiday and Turner, but 6ers aren't doing that without commitment from Dwight, which he's not going to give.

Not really. In New York, sports is a legacy and NOT a choice. You root for who your Dad roots for. Knicks fans dwarf the number of Nets fans (I can't estimate but there's an astronomical difference). One way to illustrate this is to look at the lead beat writers for the Nets and go to their Twitter accounts -- most of them have a few hundred followers.

The Brooklyn ARENA itself will be a novelty act for a little while but the passion won't be there and the vibe won't be there. It'll be a secondary franchise even if they win. Nobody cares about the Nets in New York. Honestly. Next to nobody.

They are probably the most lightly regarded franchise in any major city in the history of the earth. Even the NY Islanders (who play on Long Island and who are not nearly as popular as the Rangers) have a much larger and more passionate following than the Nets.

NYers just don't do frontrunning. No Knick fans will convert ... not real ones. They may get some casual fans who hadn't watched the NBA up until their Brooklyn arrival -- I.E., non-basketball fans lol -- and you know how that will go. The Nets only hope is to get the interest of non-passionate fans which is like drinking skim milk and pretending it's fulfilling.

Basketball will thrive in Brooklyn; it is a huge market for the NBA. I'd take Dwight and Deron over Rose and a team full of above average players. You need two stars to win Championships in this league consistently, and I place emphasis on CONSISTENTLY.

6ers won't do it. Too good for the Hawks. No reason for us to do it either.
