Not to worry ... this board will find something else to get hysterical about pretty quickly.

Also if you can beat Mr. "I shoot 60 3's a game", oh who am I kidding. You're going to the finals no doubt. There's no competition on the west.

Just wait and see if the bobcats swing a trade for either Iggy or Ellis then the board will flip out

ESPN NBA - Bobcats to hire St. John's assistant Mike Dunlap as head coach, sources told Chris Broussard

No one saw this coming.

The new head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats is … St. John's assistant Mike Dunlap.

Dunlap edged out Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw and Los Angeles Lakers assistant and ex-Missouri head coach Quin Snyder, CBSSports.com has confirmed. The news was first reported by The Charlotte Observer.

Dunlap is considered one of the brightest minds in basketball. Period. It appeared as though he committed career suicide a few years ago when he turned down the opportunity to become the interim coach at Arizona following Lute Olson's health issues. Russ Pennell took the interim tag, but it was Dunlap who assumed most of the actual on-court coaching duties.

Big words.

Those are some huge expectations to fill. If the bobcats don't have a winning season next year you can expect Jordan to fire him

Hey bill, I’m not familiar with dennis lindsey or jeff bower, but who’s the better of the two? And why isn’t Brian shaw the frontrunner for head coach?

Bill Ingram

Lindsey is arguably the better of the two, having come up in the San Antonio system. Lindsey, though, will want control and final say, whereas Bower would likely be more of a team guy, willing to let Martins and Foyle make some of the decisions. Bower built the Hornets team that looked like contenders a couple of years ago, and also drafted very well. As far as I’ve heard, Shaw is a frontrunner, but the Magic are waiting to see what happens with Scott Brooks in OKC.

Has anybody heard anything about this??? I personally put Brooks in the Spolestra mold, being carried by overwhelming talent and grossly outcoached by the Doc/pops of the world

thats funny because those two coaches each came back from being down in each series with the adjustments they made.
Brooks completely outcoached POP the last 4 games of that series, i swear you guys just shoot off and don't pay attention sometimes....
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Are you kidding me!?!?!?! If Scotty Brooks is an option, you throw money at him all day every day! He is an awesome coach, that is tough minded, defense first, and his players love him. If Orlando was able to steal Brooks, no way Dwight leaves

Kidd open to Bulls and Nets. Could we get Kidd? Draft Marshall or Teague. Kidd would be a great mentor for a young PG. Says days of playing 38 minutes are over and wouldn't mind being a backup.
How about start here in Orlando, 28-30 minutes a night, other 18-20 minutes split between Ish and Marshall/Teauge.

I don't know about that, but, I wouldn't mind Brooks here. He does make some questionable rotation sometimes though.

I do, however, like the fact that he cares about the offense as much as he cares about the defense.

I think he is a great coach, with a very young team, that is being bashed for poor play for absolutely no reason. He is still coaching college kids, and they are putting up a helluva fight against the most talented team in basketball. OKC and Scotty Brooks deserve way more credit then they are getting. I think people forget how young they actually are

You would have to do more than Anderson. Maybe Anderson and JJ for Iggy just to make the salaries match.

But then think of this, is Iggy enough to make Dwight want to stay?

yeah I know kinda being sarcastic....kinda....iggy probably isn't enough to convince Howard to stay and honestly i think wed have to give up too much for him. If Phila is serious about getting Ryan they'll fall into the troy Murphy/Austin croshere trap and over pay him....god I hope we dont match.

I may have my blue-colored glasses on, but maybe this is a case where the team may actually prefer JRich to Redick. With Redick's impending free agency looming, 6'ers may want some cheap security at the position, as well as a solid veteran to lead the young'ns. S&T Ryan & Jrich + draft pick, maybe could pull it off. Depends on the relationship our next GM has with that organization.

As for Iggy, he isn't enough to keep Dwight here alone, but it's a great step in the right direction. Wing defender and #2/3 scoring option. Throw in Monta (or Paul or Harden) next summer, and we have a great core to build around and challenge for multiple titles.

Monta
Liggins/Redick
Iggy
Davis
Dwight

Paul
Redick
Iggy
Davis
Dwight

Jameer
Harden/Redick
Iggy
Davis
Dwight

sorta pipe-dreaming it, but it's not impossible.
