Official Speculation Thread (Pt.XXXIX Off-Season Edition)
I'm so sick of this whole situation! THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVED DURING THE DRAFT! We took our dang time to hire a GM and then he's taking his dang time to make the move he is supposed to make! This is like the 9th season of Scrubs, just going on for too dang long. Give us some closure, dang!
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)

What I'm concerned about is that the Rockets aren't even offering Lamb and Parsons, but are willing to part with anything else.
Without question Lamb and the Toronto pick would have to be absolutes to be included in any trade.
Parsons is a very good, young player - but I feel like he's taking on a cult-like Tebow-esque status on these boards. I don't think his non-inclusion would or should be a deal-breaker. Especially if the Rockets are willing to send multiple picks and take on at least 2 bad contracts.
I view the pecking order in negotiations like this (obviously the Magic can't get all of this, this is the order of importance for negotiations in my eyes):
Toronto pick, Lamb, and Kmart is where you start
Then Donatas if you can wait
Then the other 2 2012 rookies who will be on cap-friendly deals longer than Parsons would.
More picks.
Then Parsons.
The rest is whatever we have to take on to include as many bad contracts that Houston is willing to stomach.
Very good post. For the most part, I agree. I definitely agree that Kmart, Toronto's pick, and Lamb are the basics. We haven't heard about Donatas being involved besides our own hopes, but he is a high level prospect that would be great to have. It's a tough call to choose between White, Jones and Parsons for me. I would take Parsons over other picks because a. hometown player who would want to be here a long time potentially b. very skilled and no noticeable weaknesses c. proven player still with potential to grow. Besides K-Mart, Parsons may be the most proven player in a package with Houston and you don't want a deal with only potential. Parsons was a four-year guy, successful, good leader, and had a great rookie year and is still signed for nothing for two more years. He's certainly no superstar, but I'm not sure if Jones or White really have the potential to be that much better. I still really like them as prospects, but will White and Jones be seen as better players who helped their teams win? Maybe, but White could be out of the league and Jones may not have developed as much as we think he will.
Basically, if a deal with Houston goes down, I'm not sure we'll ever find out what we could have gotten, but it does seem like our new GM team has an eye to at least get productive players.

Appealing in what sense?
Have you interviewed them yourself?
Shaq doesn't now what he's talking about. Only reason he's talking about Shaw is b/c he's good buddies with him.

That's an emotional response by Shaq not based in any rationality. Maybe we will regret not hiring Shaq or Malone in five years, but if Shaw didn't have what we were looking for in his interview, then we shouldn't have hired him. It's hard to know. Vaughn is a little green, but so is Shaw.

Not fake.
Did Shaq just find out Shaw dropped out? I thought Shaw dropped out, not that the Magic didn't want him.
I'm sure the magic let shaw save face.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt.XXXIX Off-Season Edition
Somewhat off topic-
I have no dog in this fight but I hope you guys get the best deal you can(most likely from Houston), and some promising young players to start the rebuild. Unfortunately, most of todays stars and superstars are of the AAU generation and from the time they're like 11 or 12 they are told how great they are, in addition to never being told no, which only fosters a sense of entitlement. Of the big three sports (Football, Baseball, Basketball) it seems this is more prevalent in Basketball, and I think the AAU culture is largely responsible for this. The AAU coaches have more power and influence with these young players than their HS school coaches.
Dwight is simply another example of a coddled and immature kid who has always got what he wanted and when he wanted it, and now that things are not going his way he is upset and essentially throwing a tantrum. The sad thing is you have despicable human beings (in addition to being a horrible owner) like Donald T Sterling get rewarded with a guy like Blake Griffin and then thanks to David Stern get one of the top 5 PG's in the game in CP3, and yet a respectable and good man in RD and your organization has to deal with yet another superstar wanting out/leaving.

Why do you say that
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.
