Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLV "Re-Building" Editi
I actually wouldn't mind trading Al and Hedo for Amare
Nelson
Afflalo, Redick
Q Rich, Harkless, Harper
Baby, Nicholson, O'Quinn
Amare, V, Ayon
I actually don't mind the look of that team but now that I think about it, that line up would be a 6-8 seed and miss the lottery.

Might work for both teams
I agree on Jack's part but do we really need another big?

Honestly, that doesn't really work for us, because it probably makes us better. Biedrins was a double double machine and shot blocker a couple of years ago before his confidence was destroyed, and a change of scenery might see him return to form, and Jack's as good a back-up point guard as we're likely to get.

I would throw MAX money at Tyreke Evans or Ty Lawson and dare the Nuggets & Kings to match. We would probably have a better shot at Evans. But at only 23 and the fact the Kings are playing him like a 6th man instead of the Point Guard he is, we might be able to get him on a Max Deal.
He could be what TMAC was. A ton of potential with a ton of scoring ability. Plus he plays the most important position on the floor as a PG.
For the Money & Risk/Reward, we go after Evans with a MAX deal and have him develop with the rest of the younger players.
he wasnt that great a PG. He put up lots of points because they gave him the green light to be a chucker. he is definitely not worth a max contract.

I think we're at the point where losing more games will be better for us.....
You know, when Dwight was traded, I wasn't nearly as sad as I thought I'd be....
In fact, I have to say, I'm looking forward to this season more than I was looking forward to last season. Even though I know we're probably going to get mudholes stomped in us every other night. It'll be fun watching the team grow, and hopefully we can do away with this lame culture we have accumulated over the years.

Nikola Vucevic, Gustavo Ayon, Kyle O'Quinn
Glen Davis, Andrew Nicholson, Josh McRoberts
Moe Harkless, Christian Eyenga, Justin Harper
Arron Afflalo, JJ Redick
Jameer Nelson, Ish Smith
looks like a 15 win team to me.
Unfortunately not. That has 3 vets in the SL. Good defense on the perimeter and at PF. A great 6th man in Redick and lot of athleticism off the bench as well. And players that "go all out". Looks more like a 30 win team.

That's what I think to. Also as bloated a contract as harrington is the dude can still ball. So in the off chance they dont move him that's definitely a 30 win team.

No way this lineup gets us the #1 pick.

I don't think anyone will care...
Being 100% honest, I don't even remember what team he got traded to, nor Duhon for that matter.
I just know they're not here.

so we owe Cle our 2013 & 2014 2nd round picks. With our new direction, those picks will be just as good as late 1st round picks. -____-
If we make any trade with them, i hope we make an effort to get those picks back.

Interesting nugget: Danny Ferry says Orlando refused to trade Dwight Howard within the division, eliminating the Hawks.
IDK if this was posted or not. just more interesting stuff.

i wonder if they were offering anything of value? All these new nuggets need to be taken with a grain of salt. These GMs are just trying to show their fanbases that they "made an effort". I'm pretty sure behind closed doors, the offers were below what we actually got, considering we had zero leverage.

Another Otis head scratcher, most likely Harper will be gone, I still cant believe how excited they were in the "war" room when they got harper after trading 2 future picks for him

So in the past three pages I've seen someone advocate throwing the max at Tyreke Evans and someone else wanting to trade expirings for Amare. W. T. F.
Why does anyone want to use the TPE or trade any of our players for anything but prospects and picks? We want max cap space and max losses.

Great Job Otis! Really planning out into the future! Ok so we all now about the hindsight thing (at the time we had a winning team), but Harper might not even be in the league after next year unless he makes some major improvements. Man those 2 2nd rounders right now would be awesome. Otis had tunnel vision.

Because they still think getting Amare nets us a title or something. I have no clue what the rationale is.
It's like this fanbase is desperate to have a name on the team. Stop people. It will come organically. We don't need Amare effin Stoudemire for pete sakes.
The TPE, if used, will be used the right way. Take back a Baron Davis type player on a bad deal to get a high lotto pick attached to it. That is the goal now.

I dont know if we are ever going to use the TPE but its def an asset. I am sure Henny was paying attention when Presti took on Kurt Thomas's contract from PHX for 2 first round picks. I am not saying we are going to get 2 first round picks because GM's seem to have gotten smarter now and PHX was desperate, but we can acquire assets with it.
