He is in some very good company in those categories & he is a unique "banger".

Yea, I was pretty wrong about KOQ. I just looked up his stats and he's like top 25 in everything a center should be good at - rebounding, passing, etc...

Whenever I see him play though, he always reminds me of a scrub lol. I'll keep an eye out for him from now on.

daaaaaaaaang. I didn't know it was like that. Thanks for those rankings.

When he learns to defend without fouls he will be a solid big in this league. I heart him.

I was just coming in here to ask the same thing. How bad is JJ's agent? He averaged a double double last year, is 5 years younger than Zaza, and had a 20 PER last year! Hammond is a complete moron.

Even past summer league MVP's didn't typically "dazzle"

People are expecting to see the top players just straight up dominate. That rarely, if ever, happens. There are stat stuffers...but guys are going to make some ugly plays to go along with the great ones. That is why there is a summer league. These players need a transition period.

I remember one guy that did "dazzle" to a degree a couple times during summer league. Britton Johnson. He had a great NBA career, didn't he?

Summer league games should be taken with a grain of salt and people need to realize that drawing conclusions from watching one...or even multiple summer league games is foolish. Flashes don't mean much. The biggest story teller in summer league games is turnovers. To a lesser degree, rebounds and steals. Those two things show effort and IQ. I don't pay attention to points, shooting percentages, assists, etc.

I understand that you are just comparing the article to his play...but his play was outstanding for his first summer league game in which he was playing out of position.

Dr Jack Ramsay the ex Blazer coach and analyst said if a player plays well in summer league it doesn't mean anything....but if a player DOESN'T play well it can mean many things. But all in all I think it was a good first game.

I can agree with that. Preach Doc.

Well if Cuban is trying to put together a competitive squad with the Calderon signing.

They literally only have two PF/Cs on their roster NOT counting Marion. Dirk & Bernard James.

They could be interested in Big Baby possibly?

Devin Harris who played some 2 is a FA, they have VC, but he seemed to play much better in a 6th man role...Maybe they would be interested in AA to slide into that starting SG spot.

Hmmmm

KO doesn't usually get much love around here. I think he will help us when we're good again. Off the bench most probably but a good role player and solid big guy for the rotation.

Osby is another guy I thought was a good fit for our team just from the little I could find on line. He showed up today and did everything from his highlight reels. I honestly wasn't surprised that much, he seems like a serious guy and I thought he would be good. looks like another good late pick.

The only thing that surprised me about Dipo was that he hit those early threes. His point guard skills were a bit choppy but was that a surprise to anyone, he's pretty predictable right now. It's gonna work out great for him in the long run when he returns to a more natural role. I do see the Magic continuing to give him run at point because, well, why wouldn't you? Great first showing I think.

Jones has to show me something, anything, ever. I will be watching him in these games just out of curiosity, I think he's gone from our team.

It maybe early but we should have our eyes on Marcus Smart this season, we can still be better than last year squad though a still be a lottery team!

Hennigan lucks up with the #1 pick (Wiggins) and a team like Utah has #2 then we should trade Harkless/2014 pick via Nuggets to select M.Smart

C*Vucevic
PF*Harris
SF*Wiggins
SG-Oladipo
PG*Smart

:o that would be a first for the NBA, woudln't it? Did a team ever pick 1 and 2?

MagicTownBaller wrote:Why does everyone keep saying that Lin's contract is $5M this year and $15M next year when the CAP HIT IS ONLY $8.3M THIS YEAR AND $8.3M NEXT YEAR!!! God man, this is infuriating that people continue to ignore this SIMPLE fact. It would have ONLY BEEN A CAP HIT OF $15M NEXT YEAR IF NEW YORK WOULD HAVE MATCHED!!!!!!!!

Chill out.

1. Not everyone has the time to pay attention to all those details or read every thread and/or article. When I first joined RealGM i posted over 100x a day, easily. Now I post once or twice a day, if that.

2. It's not a SIMPLE fact. For what, 90-95% of contracts in the NBA the cap hit matches the player's salary for the year? Lin's contract happens to be one of the few that doesn't.

Congratulations on blowing your gasket over people being mistaken about the exception to the rule. Sorry if that ruins your day every time someone is mistaken.

Not a bad idea, but f they planned to play similarly to SVG's system, Parsons could fill that role and 3+D Afflalo would be a very good fit, they'd need shoters at 2 and 4 to spread te floor for Dwight and Harden.

I don't, if not this summer, I believe it's safe to say we'll deal at least one veteran before february's trade deadline. And if we haven't done anything before training camp, we'll probably add a cheap PG and another minor FA, to fill a 15 players roster
