rcklsscognition wrote:Certainly seeing a major pickup in national trade talk. I thought it would take a bit longer before teams started getting the itch to move guys around, more towards the all-star break, but it seems like we're moving into the intitial phone call period.

Teams that are finding themselves either suddenly out of the playoff picture or just a tad shy of being a legitimate threat in the playoffs should be looking to move guys now.

Teams I see with high probability of making a trade:

NY Knicks
Orlando Magic
Phoenix Suns
Philadephia 76ers
Boston Celtics
Chicago Bulls
LA Lakers
Milwaukee Bucks
Toronto Raptors
Houston Rockets
New Orleans Hornets
Golden State Warriors

Add the wolves. Kahn has been the most active trader in the NBA over the last 2 years, and while he claims that he wants to sit back and see what he's got, he's claimed that before and traded pretty freely.

I could certainly see him in private discussions to see what he can get for Beasley, Luke Ridnour, Wes Johnson and Anthony Randolph. He's also shown a willingness to serve as a third party in a deal to take on salary - for those he'd use Brad Miller or Webster's partially guaranteed deals.

K.C Johnson @KCJHoop
Dwight Howard opens up to the Trib's @vxmcclure23: ``If I could play with Derrick right now and God wanted that to happen, it will happen.''

DRose

It very well could happen if he would add Chicago to his list.

He acts like all of this stuff is out of his hands.....

He at least gave you guys some leverage.

I'm sure the Bulls would easily trade:

Noah
Deng
Gibson
Charlotte 1st
Bulls 1st
Mirotic

for

D12
Hedo

Is that Charlotte's 2012 first? Is there any protection on it?

2012 - Top 14 Protected
2013 - Top 12 Protected
2014 - Top 10 Protected
2015 - Top 8 Protected
2016 - Unprotected

Yeah, top 14.

Which is unfortunate, because it's looking like it will be in the top 5.

When we trade Dwight we should get a three team trade and swing JJ to CHI to get that Charlotte pick somehow.

Chicago has always been that other candidate that's never mentioned but why not? Dwight will play with Deron but not DRose? They're both unselfish players and the Bulls offer isn't a bad one. Noah is not worth as much as Bynum but perhaps through other means you could offer more.

1) that pick is not all that great with the way it's protected
2) with the way we draft, do draft picks matter?

In addition to a likely Charlotte lottery pick in a couple years, another underrated aspect of Chicago's potential package is Mirotic. He's one of the top players in Europe this year, won MVP of the Euroleague for December, and is only 20. Top-10-pick-quality player, but won't be able to come over for a couple years.

With this stacked draft having 2 or 3 top 20-25 picks would be nice and it would be tough to pick bad. But I think when we do trade Dwight Otis will be gone anyway.

Speaking of players in Europe...Fran Vasquez. I wonder if he'd come over if we didn't have a center on our roster.

What do you guys think about this trade...

3 Teams: ORL, CHI, ATL

ORL receives: Deng/JSmoove/Gibson/Asik/CJ Watson/CHA 1st

CHI receives: Howard/Turk/Nelson

ATL receives: Noah, QRich, Orton

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/6009399

CJ/Duhon/Hughes
JRich/Redick/Liggins
Deng/Wafer/Clark
JSmoove/Anderson/Gibson/Harper
Asik/BBD/Gibson

Excellent defensive team. Magic could then look to move some players for a PG and/or a SG...

ATL finally get a C and move Horford to PF full-time.

Teague/Hinrich
Johnson/TMac
Marvin/QRich
Horford
Noah

Rose/Nelson
Rip/Brewer
Hedo/Korver
Boozer
Howard

All teams look happy with that.

Taking Noah's contract would hurt BAD. I'd rather have Turkoglu no joke

I agree, thats why I sent Noah to ATL and Turk to CHI. I really Asik's defense and rebounding and he's on a good contract.
