Good luck guys. I'll be keeping an eye on the situation and sending good wishes to Orlando.

It's not your fault bro, don't even talk like that man. Besides the trade deadline isn't over yet so let's see what happens first before we start reacting.

We wouldn't have to change much in our offense. That is for sure.

Dwight, if you're reading this :), I promise you one thing: The Nets will not be popular even with you and Deron. There will be zero passion.

EVERYTHING about basketball in NY -- and I mean everything -- centers on the Knicks and is viewed through the prism of the Knicks. The Nets are always an afterthought.

The Knicks are a storied franchise in NY -- win or lose -- and the Nets are a little footnote.

That will not change. You will be a second-class citizen in your own city.

The self perception that Knicks fans have of their team is really hilarious. For a team that hasn't won a playoff game in over a decade, they really have this idea that they are some sort of legendary team or even a championship winning organization. In reality, they are more like the Mets. A team that has a die hard following, but never win, and a highly dysfunctional ownership. Yet every year "is there year".

If Brooklyn has Deron & Dwight, they will dominate NYC. It's just the truth.

i believe for Dwight it's never been about Knicks vs Nets potential rivalry....it's the Market....It's the possible endorsements and the bigger stage.....i just hope Dwight knows that with the bigger stage comes bigger expectations....will he be able to handle the pressure? Dwight has never been a leader here in Orlando so maybe with him teaming up with Deron in Brooklyn Dwight can be in the role he's meant to be......

Multiple NBA sources: Monta Ellis is frustrated with the team's inability to fulfill promises to build a contending roster.

Oh well...I just hope the nets have a losing record even with Deron and Dwight. That will ease the pain for me. :(

come on, pickup yourself, you still got good work to do around here.

Exactly, Dwight is leaving and I couldn't be happier. Who knows, I may end my personal ban of not watching Magic games this year. I will have a team again!

This and that's is if they have moderate/good success. Imagine is they look like a bunch of headless chickens for a season or two..The Nets/Dwight/Deron hate would be real in NYC.

Multiple NBA sources: Dorell Wright and Andris Biedrins have also indicated they'd be fine with a trade away from the Warriors.

Not really. In New York, sports is a legacy and NOT a choice. You root for who your Dad roots for. Knicks fans dwarf the number of Nets fans (I can't estimate but there's an astronomical difference). One way to illustrate this is to look at the lead beat writers for the Nets and go to their Twitter accounts -- most of them have a few hundred followers.

The Brooklyn ARENA itself will be a novelty act for a little while but the passion won't be there and the vibe won't be there. It'll be a secondary franchise even if they win. Nobody cares about the Nets in New York. Honestly. Next to nobody.

They are probably the most lightly regarded franchise in any major city in the history of the earth. Even the NY Islanders (who play on Long Island and who are not nearly as popular as the Rangers) have a much larger and more passionate following than the Nets.

NYers just don't do frontrunning. No Knick fans will convert ... not real ones. They may get some casual fans who hadn't watched the NBA up until their Brooklyn arrival -- I.E., non-basketball fans lol -- and you know how that will go. The Nets only hope is to get the interest of non-passionate fans which is like drinking skim milk and pretending it's fulfilling.

I want Dwight to stay in Orlando. But Dwight and Deron in Brooklyn will be bigger than the Knicks. Sorry but in the NBA, people follow stars and winning. Not too mention people will buy **** just because it says Brooklyn on it.

I could not disagree more. The Nets could win the next 5 titles and would not be bigger than the Knicks in NY. My bestfriend lives and has lived in Brooklyn his whole life. Whenever I ask him about the Nets coming to BK he says "Mannn F the Nets, nobody cares about them coming to Brooklyn! Its all about the Knicks son". "Obviously, it will be nice to have them in Brooklyn, but at the end of the day its all about the Knicks"

You really don't know NYC at all, do you. Knicks could be the biggest garbage team in history and they would still be huge. Fans might boo the team, but the crowd will sell out. LMAO at brooklyn being more popular.

Dwight and Deron will sell more jerseys, win more games, and be in the national media everyday. Brookyln will sell out every home game. Everyone wants to be a fan of a winner, and Brookyln, the city istelf, is a novelty, especially with the black community.

TBH, I actually wouldn't mind a 3 team deal where GS gets Pau, LA gets Dwight, and we get Monta and Bynum. If that's what we gotta do...

Should have taken it when it was available. But we probably held out for Gasol. Bad move, because I doubt Lakers would be willing to take Howard for what is now almost a certainty would only be half a season and then he signs with the Nets.
