Although I do not think it is speculation to state that the Magic did not do themselves any favors yesterday.

Nothing changed yesterday.

2 days ago: D12 was not signing with the Magic, but only the Nets and likely LA.
Today: D12 was not signing with the Magic, but only the Nets and likely LA.

Likely the Mavs

So one could say that our position ... improved.

Well, I suppose I could put more thought into it next time but I have trouble imagining a scenario involving an analogy better matched to your reactions.

Does this mean that you take all political campaign commercials as literal truth? Based on the details that were released after the meeting, it appears that this was nothing more than a routine check up to keep the lines of communication open with Dwight. It was the media, not Hennigan, who blew the story out of proportion and declared it a Hail Mary attempt to keep Dwight.

State before the meeting: Dwight Howard wants to be traded.
State after the meeting: Dwight Howard wants to be traded.

I'm not sure that I see a difference here...

Nothing has changed! The media is just hungry for a story.

Dallas hurts us. 1) They would be able to sign him outright. 2) they have nothing to trade us.

Is that the same ladder Otis Smith climbed? We are fools and morons because we question some of his moves but you aren't because you "assume" he knows what he is doing? Ok, we will go with that!

difference is imo Rob was a part of a Championship Organization learned from the right people....Otis was chewed up and spit out a GM by the Devos machine.....

I'll apply for that job.

Sorry, you need 8,885 posts to apply. Better luck next time.

I heard they decreased it to 6127 posts, but now the candidate needs to speak english, portuguese and spanish.

Doesn't affect us this off-season. Doesn't weaken our stance now.

Rudolph on the radio saying there has only been one conversation between the Magic and Lakers, and the Lakers made the call.

That Hoopsworld possibility would be INSANE if it went down, moving close to 20 players combined and we would cut a ton of salary!

Rudolph on 710 for those who couldn't listen

-Meeting yesterday was a failed attempt to build a relationship with Dwight. Hennigan wanted to build rapport and to sell himself Dwight, at the very least, expected a sales pitch with a gameplan in terms of coaching and acquiring players
-Once it became known it wouldn't happen, there was nothing more to discuss
-Dwight said nothing personal but he'd like to be traded as soon as possible
-Rudolph thinks that Orlando showing up without a game plan shows "spectacular ineptitude"
-Rudolph is pretty sure the Magic never informed Hennigan how bad things were between them and Dwight
-Rudolph isn't sure whether or not Dwight is stuck in Orlando, they've turned down good deals from Nets and Houston, and the LAL/CLE 3 way, but they know they need to move him
-Howard camp wondering if ORL intends to actually engage trade talks or just noise
-ACCORDING TO RUDOLPH'S SOURCES, THERE'S ONLY BEEN ONE CONVERSATION WITH THE LAKERS AND THAT WAS INITIATED BY US
-The Melo package isn't going to happen for the Magic
-Orlando is being greedy and unwilling to even take 80 cents on the dollar
-Rudolph said it was tough to answer this one, especially because the Lakers are not convince Orlando wants to make a move, but his guess was that it's more likely that Dwight doesn't move until January than in the next two weeks, this based on his belief Orlando isn't seriously interested in trading Dwight

Thanks for the summary.

I'm sure Rudolph gets info from both the Magic and Howards camp right. And he is not used by Howards camp to make the Magic look like its all their fault right?
