Re: The Dante Exum Thread
Today is the day - Exum is in town for his workout.
Can anyone with articles and tweets of his workout please relay it on here? I'm pretty stoked about this. Probably won't be much news since we're so tight-lipped these days. Thanks in advance.

If anything leaks, it will be positive. I am not convinced that the Magic actually want him. If they do, nothing will come out. If they don't, positive things will leak in hope that it helps encourage, in some small way, the Bucks to take him.

Re: The Dante Exum Thread
Via Chad Ford - ESPN:
Unless one of the top three -- Joel Embiid, Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins -- falls to them at No. 4, I think this one is down to Noah Vonleh and Exum. We had Vonleh here at No. 4 last week after he worked out for the team and he was very impressive. Several sources who have worked out Vonleh over the past week have disputed the rumor that he was out of shape (he certainly didn't look that way to me in New York a few weeks ago). But even if he was, he has so many things going for him at his size that he's an attractive option for the Magic, who could use an athletic rim protector and shooter to pair with Nikola Vucevic on their front line.
However, the more I dig, the more I believe this is Exum's spot to lose. The Magic need a point guard and have been intrigued all year. He comes in to work out on Tuesday. If he wows them in the workout, the Magic feel he's just too good to pass on here and will try to solve their power forward issues later in the draft or via free agency or trade.
Marcus Smart was the other player who had drawn interest, but I get the feeling out of Orlando that his workouts there (he's had two now) weren't particularly strong and might have knocked him out of contention at No. 4.

Vonleh or Bust!!!
Magic need a Rim protector more than PG at the moment while there are plenty of Free Agent PG's out there.

I could settle on this. Vonleh does remind me a lot of a more rim protecting Bosh.
Package AA+12+Harkless for Smart.
Smart, Nelson
Oladipo, F/A shooter, Lamb
Harris
Vonleh, Nicholson
Vucci, Oquinn
I wish................

I like Smart, but I think that is too much for Smart even. AA is legit while I feel Harkless gonna prove people wrong cuz he so young and developing. I would rather sign Lowry for the present or keep Meer and play Dipo there. But, if the Magic could get Smart for AA + #12, then I am all game.

Plenty of Free Agent PGs out there?? Please enlighten us. You really want us to blow our load on Lowry?

Re: The Dante Exum Thread
I would take Parker over Exum but not by much, and without hearing anything about how X looks at workouts. Exum could become my over all front runner if everything goes quiet after his visit. The other problem is him being available at 4. All seems pretty quiet at the Bucks front office. Our consolation prize is getting Parker I think. I can't see the Sixers passing on Wiggins, they have wanted him since the beginning.
My gut feeling is that Exum has a maybe from Milwaukee and knows he wont fall past us. If he schedules no additional workouts that's pretty telling. I think we're getting X or Parker, win or win.

Actually the Bucks owner flat out said they want Jabari, I believe.. But who knows it could just be a smokescreen

Re: The Dante Exum Thread
I like how Chad Ford is "Just covering his bases" and "Doesn't know what hes talking about." Most of the time unless he says Exum is going 4th and suddenly hes all knowing. Lmao.Smooth_E wrote:Via Chad Ford - ESPN:Unless one of the top three -- Joel Embiid, Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins -- falls to them at No. 4, I think this one is down to Noah Vonleh and Exum. I agree with him though. If HENNIGAN says Exum is worthy of the 4th pick then I trust him. I keep seeing how Vonleh has been impressive at his workouts so much like Exum, there has to be something there. I think most are wrong about him not being worthy of the 4th pick. I noticed that, Chad called Vonleh an "Athletic rim protector" I thought his knock was that he wasnt very athletic?
Once again though this is Chad covering his bases by jumping on the Exum train just so that he'll be right about something. Media trend. But yeah it'll come down to Smart/Vonleh/Exum imo.

Re: The Dante Exum Thread
He did go to Milwaukee first of only 2 scheduled workouts. If it's just us and them getting visits that has to say something.

I personally think it would be stupid at this point (or in the Bucks' GM's time of declaration, about 2 weeks ago) to flat out say who you want. Even if you know for sure if you can get that player, you could be missing out on another opportunity via trade (if in case you'd like a player like Kyrie who you maybe might be able to trade your #2 pick for).
