Earl had a few nyce drives for layups, and made 1 or 2 18' shots. He played within the offense and fit right in.

On D, he still look a lil' lost, but had some great moments in his rotations and effort. Kid is gonna be GOOD and SVG knows it:
"I think Earl is going to be a really, REALLY(!!!) good player. I really do. I think that he's offensively very talented; he has great quickness; he can shoot the ball; he can put the ball on the floor. He is a very hard working guy; he's the first guy in here everyday; he comes in on every off day; every game he hasn't played in, if you go in the gym, afterwards, he's workingout after games (10 o'clock at night). Like I said before, his thing is just a learning thing. He really, really needs to learn more of what we're doing; he's working hard at that. When understands what we're doing team defense-wise, I think he can be an OUTSTANDING defender. He can really move his feet; he plays hard. I love what he brings to the table, I really do."

Can anyone tell me what they said? or cliff-notes on what they were saying? 8-)

- Jon Barry said the Bulls are still better than us cause we got no big men (???) to match up with Boozer & Curly Bob
- JVG said that if we wanna make any chance of winning, Hedo needs to dominate every game (kinda true ..)

And the usual "can't beat Miami or Boston when healthy" .. I like this underdog thing

Based on what JVG said about Arenas not contributing anything since he's been here, do you think SVG feels the same way?

I just wonder if this kind of bs has any affect on the players because i'm sure it gets back to them that "hey, your coaches brother was talking smack about you blah blah.."

JVG just frustrates me with his having to go the extra mile to downplay everything the Magic does right or wrong.

I know him and Stan are very close (as most brothers are) so I wonder what SVG's true feelings are about Gilbert.

Gil needs more minutes to gel with this team IMO, he's playing around 18-20 mpg.

Not really.
Arenas is playing with his brain shut off. In other words he's clueless what to do with the ball and often either stands around or jacks up shots which he often misses. Basically he's playing out of the system and that's the reason Stan is limiting his minutes.

I am more comfortable with Jameer. Gil needs time no doubt but he also has to start playing the smart way. I think he'll be fine come playoff time he still has to adapt to a whole new system. And it's not like we're talking about Blatche here or McGee, Arenas is a smart basketball player it's just a matter of him seeing that too. It's like he wants to prove himself and often that isn't the smart way to prove youtself by forcing the issue. Let the game come to you. For example Turk, he started the game pretty bad with 6 for 1 shooting he was really forcing the issue and was taking dumb shots and choices after another but then he started to do the smart thing by attacking the basket and after an easy layup or 2 his jumper came back because he let the game come to him and not the other way around. He ended up with 12 for 6 if i'm not mistaken that's 6 for 5 after that horrible 6 for 1 start. Arenas just has to fine tune his game to adjust to our playing style. If your jumper isn't there stop forcing the issue attack the basket, feed your teammates or play off your point forward.

I like how they conveniently leave out that Keith Bogans is their starter at SG. Thats just sad.

It annoys me more that no one calls him out. How on earth does Dwight frikkin Howard and Brandon Bass not match up with the Bulls starting front court. Bass is just as physically strong as Boozer and Dwight is obviously far better than Noah.

Gil does need more playing time, but the problem isn't the talent; it's his mindset. He's always been a chucker, but he needs to try to carve a niche with this team. And it's going to take hard work, commitment on the defensive end, seriousness about the game, and sustained focus to obtain that.

Until he starts playing better than Redick and Nelson, he's going to continue to hover around 20 MPG.
