I leave for a few hours and, once again, we're done. If Dwight doesn't sign the papers, trade him for the best offer. If the Lakers offer Bynum, do it and don't look back. Dwight has let the wrong people get to him and Otis made some bad moves. Forget what Dwight wants and get the best offer we can. Maybe the Nets offer will be the best, but hopefully someone else will give us a significant piece/pieces and we can unload some of our crap on them.

what a circus. it seems like dwight can't make up his mind, so this just basically comes down to one thing and that is how much risk you are willing to take regarding the probability that dwight leaves in free agency. i'm getting the sense that most on here are risk-averse and want a sure return.

How many times do I have to tell you guys, STOP JUMPING THE GUN on ANYTHING until it's OFFICIAL. How many times do I have to tell you, DWIGHT IS A FOLLOWER, NOT A LEADER, NOT HIS OWN MAN. He is a pawn. He isn't smart enough to figure things out on his own. It is being set up perfectly so that if he leaves, he doesn't look like the bad guy because he told the Magic they were his "first choice", but he also asked for a trade. So if he leaves he can say "well I told you guys to trade me so you got something back". How much do you want to bet he would say something stupid if he gets traded like "well I told them to roll the dice and that they were my 'first choice'...I was gonna stay with them but wanted to sign a new 5-yr deal and the only way I could do that is opt-out".

It's amazing that we have the best center in the NBA and can't get a great deal for him. Smh...

@sam_amick: Yet another updated Dwight Howard story - http://bit.ly/yCWFkY

Sources close to the situation told SI.com earlier Wednesday that Howard was considering that option but that he was being pressured by his representatives to instead enter free agency. That influence was a point of frustration for the Magic, as Howard would routinely express a willingness to stay only to reverse course after consulting with his agency. It's worth noting that Howard's current agent is not on the books for his current contract and would not be paid on his client unless there is a new deal.

Anybody think Dwight is man enough to speak to the media tonight? I bet Fegan is advising him not to.

We really don't know whats out there, maybe we will get something decent. Probably not because we have Otis Smith.

No.

Man, that would be so sweet....

After him screwing with us so much, it would be great to give him one last middle finger.

I don't understand how Howard can look his teammates in the eye

Was any of that official, or just rumored? Because it was rumored that the Lakers had a deal on the table of Bynum, Fisher and World Peace for Dwight, Hedo and Duhon recently. Nobody knows the real truth behind it all.

Not really amazing when you consider that the team trading for him is only getting him for half a season. With everyone seemingly saying he'll bolt for New Jersey in free agency, why should any other team be willing to pay anything remotely close to full value for Dwight?
