I was thinking, IF Dwight does decide to sign this opt-in, and he fires Fegan....can you IMAGINE how much money Fegan's screw-up in his Dwight campaign just cost him?? Between Dwight's next huge contract and his absurdly enormous Adidas contract.....he may have cost himself over $20mil dollars!

Ramon Sessions maybe...Orton+Duhon + 1st rd pick sound fair to me...

Still possible, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if there is a "big" trade today. I suspect the organization's been working on complex scenarios to move Howard at this point, not scenarios to bring in another star in deals not involving Howard.
But you never know. Alex Martins has said all along he wanted to keep Dwight if there was any chance of retaining him, so maybe they've still been pursuing trades to continue down that path as well.

I think step one should be signing the waiver.
Step two is he fires Fegan and hires a reputable agent.
Step Three is a thousand RealGMers laugh our butts off
Yeah, this was a colossal F-Up by Fegan. He let his greed get in the way of good decision making - who'd have guessed?

no chances...
I say we stay put and Otis call it a success cuz we still got Dwight

I wouldn't trade our 1st. IMO. Its a deep draft and thats probably our only way to acquire our assets.

Me as well
even tho i was really pissed
it's easy to see how this happened. Dwight probably did wanna test the waters
but fegan gave him really bad advice
I think dwights heart always wanted to be here, but his mind was being polluted by those with their own interests
im sure nets bitch aka WOJ will write a scathing article today and do the nets hack job and so will many others that were so sure he was gone but who cares what they think.
hopefully the fans got his back friday
This is where I am too. The situation was so incredibly frustrating and while I get that the guy has every right to move on, as a Magic fan I was both angry and saddened by the way things progressed.
Hopefully there's no triple-take now. I want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, and I want us to be able to embrace him again. He has some work to do to earn back the hardcore fans, but if he's sincere he certainly has started in the right direction.
I'm willing to forgive and move on, I suspect many others are as well. Now we can get back to enjoying what has really been some excellent basketball over the past few weeks.

You have no idea how great it feels to hear RealGM mentioned and my folks calling me and telling me RealGM was mentioned on the news.
Jarrod was great on Fox BTW.
Congrats Howard, you guys do a great job, nice for you to get some recognition on-air!

Good Point. All this is pending Dwight signing of course, but we don't "need" to make a big splash. Just another piece. I'm fine with JJ being the starter & moving J-Rich at this point.

Once the Dwight 'domino' falls, there will definitely be other moves made around the league. Whether we make one or not, tbd. I guess something tiny if so.

Took me a few seconds to spot the other story below about him not doing it and to realise how insane this board must have been over the last few hours. Then I scroll down to the board and see that we're on Part 21, and I did a quick double take because I swear we had only just started part 20 when I went to sleep. This place must have been crazy.
That said, I'm delighted he's opting in. I'm also pleased to hear him admit that he's gotten bad advice over the last few months. Everyone seemed to think that there were people around him who wanted to steer him to a bigger market and out of Orlando, and now it seems he's confirmed that.
The same exact thing happened to me this morning.........
I think I'm gonna go dig up part XX and look at the responses. This should be good.

our drafting is piss poor...we won't get someone like Sessions whos somekind of proven...next year we sign him longterm for "cheap"...maybe even resign Meer for cheap later...and split their minutes
resign anderson play next season with the same roster (+ Sessions) till deadline..pair a asset like ryan or JJ +picks with BBD and the other with J.rich and get exprirings.
Try to upgrade at SG with Monta and PF with J.Smith (Dwight's buddies) in 2013.

All I want is another PG so Duhon will never see the court. J-Rich would be an ideal piece to move.

After what transpired over the last 24 hours. . .I don't really want to trade anybody. I know that defies basketball logic because we have some people (duhon, BBD) weighing us down but, idk, I feel like our team is really bonding right now and we have something here. I. . .I think I like this team

I don't want to see us trade our pick, if whoever we draft turns out to be semi-decent it could help in moving Duhon/BBD next season.

Didnt Rudolph say HE WILL get rid of ETO ???
Rudolph’s interview with Howard would have taken place shortly after Howard did this Q-and-A with the media after the defeat in San Antonio. In this interview, Howard said again he wants to play out the season with the Magic and that the Magic should take a chance on him; never once does he hint at opting in for 2012-13.

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:
"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Sadly, I don't think we'll re-sign Jameer for cheap, quite honestly, I think we'll overpay just to keep him. Gotta keep the big guy happy, we were on the verge of losing Dwight, I'm pretty sure the organization will take extra repercussions on personnel decisions involving Dwight, especially when its his best friend we're talking about.
If there's a need to trade our 1st round pick, I don't mind it. But not for a guy like Sessions. Especially for a pick this year. IMO, the pick will come in handy come draft time, when someone falls on our pick we can easily sell it to the highest bidder. This has got to be one of the deepest draft in a few years and trading a pick for Sessions, is meh.. the guy wont even start for our team because we have Jameer.

Not just this, but players will think twice before signing with him.
