Ryan Anderson will help the U.S. men’s basketball team prepare for the Summer Olympics in London.

The Orlando Magic forward has been added to the USA Select team roster that will help the Olympic squad train July 6-12 in Las Vegas. CSNBayArea.com first reported the news, and a league source confirmed Anderson’s inclusion to the Orlando Sentinel.

The USA Select team also will include DeMarcus Cousins, Kyrie Irving, Jeremy Lin and John Wall.

JJ Redick ‏ @JJRedick
Big win for Sixers. Wasn't the prettiest game but highly competitive. Evan Turner's twisting layup was huge.

JJ watching the Sixers...allow me to read too much into this...JJ must like their team...wouldn't mind playing in Philly with a bunch of youngsters...Trade JJ and S&T Ryan for Iggy.

I'm sure he is honored, but It's still a scrub team compared to the superstars they'll be going up against.

DeMarcus Cousins -- Kings
Jeremy Lin -- Knicks
Klay Thompson -- Warriors
Kyrie Irving -- Cavaliers
John Wall -- Wizards
DeMar DeRozan -- Toronto
Paul George -- Pacers
Gordon Hayward -- Jazz
Kawhi Leonard -- Spurs
DeJuan Blair -- Spurs
Ryan Anderson -- Magic
Taj Gibson -- Bulls
Derrick Favors -- Jazz

Congrats, Ryno.

Jeez, how long will it take for the morons up top to make decisions on Otis and Stan? Maybe I'm just being impatient, but it has been a week since the season ended already. I'm not sure how much time they need to think this over.

I can't lie, I expected at least one of them to be gone yesterday......

I expected them both to be gone by the end of LAST week. Though, I'd prefer to keep SVG. It just looks kind of obvious both are gone, yet we're dragging our feet on a decision. I'd like to get moving with the process of hiring new people if that is the direction we're going with, especially at GM. The new guy deserves some time to prepare for the draft and FA.

I don't get it either. They act like everything went sour just last week. They've had at least six months now to plan this all out. I can understand still having SVG and seeing how the Dwight situation pans out but there is no excuse for Otis to still have a job.

Exactly.

Draft is in about a month, FA is around a month after that......we need to get the ball rolling.

If a new GM is coming, he needs time to get in the organization, get a feel for the staff/players/Management/Owners, and start preparing, because he won't have much time.

But then again, apparently, we don't care about the draft, so.....

No big deal, man, he can ask some valuable tips to Otis and make exactly the opposite

I had been hoping for change at the GM level at this point too. I'm especially frustrated but not surprised by Alex Kennedy's statements about the Magic's draft approach. Fans have now had to endure this unprepared, unsuccessful draft approach for 7 years. Its well past time for a change.

I don't agree with the general antipathy towards our drafts. We punted '07, '09' and '11' and we grabbed Fran, Redick, Lee, and Orton with the other first rounders. We had Anderson ahead of Lee and then traded for him, Redick and have both started for us. We did not pick up the option on Orton and whiffed on Fran to be sure but even that isn't a finished story.

Fran is never coming over and we haven't had a good draft in years.

I beg to differ. I think Liggins, Harper and BBOrton have a future in this league. Maybe not all starters, but decent role players. Considering they were all late round picks, that is a helluva draft.

Maybe, the best thing Otis has done in years unless it was mostly Foyle.

Ok, let me rephrase that, We haven't had good 1st rd picks lately. Outside of Dwight, JJ and Courtney.

2001 Steven Hunter and Jerryl Sasser
2002 Curtis Borchardt( traded to Utah)
2003 Reece Gaines
2004 Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson
2005 Fran Vazquez
2006 JJ Redick
2007 No first rd pick
2008 Courtney Lee
2009 No picks in '09
2010 Daniel Orton
2011 No first rd pick

I think we could add Nelson to this list too, Nemesis, cuz we traded for him in draft night. And in 2000 we selected ROY with #5 pick (Mike Miller).

As for Curtis Borchardt i would take him away from this list, because Jazz traded for him and add Ryan Humphrey to the list (even worse).

Another thing is that we drafted Varejao with 1st pick in 2nd round, but traded him for nothing. Good scouting, horrible trade.

But i agree with you, we havent done a good overall job, IMO.
