I don't think the team would trade Hark already but I would think they'd have to maybe at least explore the option. Maybe for Jobn Henson? He's a stud that doesn't get much burn in Milwaukee, similar to Tobias.

Really? That high on Hark? I like him, he definitely has potential, but (even though they play different positions) I feel like when you compare Oladipo and Mo that Oladipo is pretty much just as good or better at everything. Including a much better 3 point shooter coming out of college.

I can see not wanting to do it, just a thought. I don't wanna end up like the Hawks a while back and just have 10 6'8 forwards on our roster but at the same time stockpiling assets is never a bad thing.

Oladipo played 3 yrs of college ball; Harkless just 1.

Some people have zero patience to allow a player to develop. Harkless isn't going anywhere.

It's not so much about not having patience but about players not being redundant. Nothing wrong with trading a good prospect for another good prospect that would fit the roster better.

Especially considering Oladipo shot .208 from 3pt range in 2011-12.

I was just looking at some stats, and Harkless had around the same stats as Paul George in his rookie season. I think he will become a similar player and I love that because I love Paul George.

I hear you, but we've only seen 1 season of Moe. He's just scratching the surface to show what he can do, so there's no way to say we need to bring in someone else that's a better fit. We have no fit right now and just need to collect talent to grow with the rest of the assets.

Probably true, it's better to let the guys build chemistry anyway. But it's a speculation thread so I figure what else is there to do? 8-)

Well there won't be a Hornets team in the league next year. So you won't be a fan of any team. :)

Im not really high in Oladipo, if i had a choice i would keep Harkless and draft another player

Hornets won't be back in existence until 2014-2015 I believe. Either way....it's a bad situation, haha.

Houston seems to have soured with Jeremy Lin, I think if we draft Mclemore, Jeremy Lin should be targeted as our PG due to his penetrating style. IMO, he is perfect for the young Magic team.

If it weren't for the $15 million a year after this coming season, I'd be down. But with that cap hit, it'd be pretty rough.

This is actually a misconception. The cap hit is actually $8.3M per year. The way Houston designed the contract was that if New York matches, the cap hit would be $5M for the first two years and then $15M for the third. But, if they didn't match, the cap hit will be $8.3M for all three years. I think, not exactly sure about this one though, that he is still paid $5M for the first two years and then $15M for the last year, but the cap hit is still $8.3M per year.

I thought the cap hit was 8.3 as long as he stays on Houston. If he gets traded, his cap hit does the poison pill thing. Or am I mistaken?

Do the magic have any pre-draft player workouts or interviews scheduled yet? Surprised we haven't heard anything.

Return to Orlando Magic
