The Grizzlies are straight bums. Glad they're just as bad for the Pistons.

Pistons also play the Wolves on the 11th. I hope they win that game too.

I'm worried the 76ers will go up too far on Brooklyn, and just rest everyone in the final two games against us.

Pistons/Wolves in 5 days is now all of a sudden super interesting.

One of those teams is now guaranteed to win at least 21.

The 2nd worst record somehow still possibly on the table here.

The Pistons haven't lost 5 games in a row all season and they have 5 games left.

Wolves have been playing well now that they’re healthy. I expect them to beat us and the pistons as long as they don’t start resting players.

I'm aware.

I am going off the impression that the Magic will hopefully lose out and remain at 21 wins.

Losing out would give Minnesota a guaranteed 21st win. So then Wolves/Pistons could give Detroit 21 or Minnesota 22.

Could OKC or Cleveland win another? Doesn't seem terribly likely.

Really hope the league would discretely reward the teams that are trying to stay competitive as opposed to the ones that are blatantly tanking.

Dare I say, with how the Magic have been playing lately compared to other tanking teams, we’ve been doing it with grace, maybe better odds of picking at the top.

I’d be upset if OKC won with how they’ve been tanking.

God I hope so. That Timberwolves game is our last home game, and we'll be on the same rest/travel schedule as them (we play @Charlotte tonight, they're @Miami; let's hope they don't party too hard), so hopefully they come out to play.

The last 2 games @Philly kind of have me spooked though, hopefully they have something to play for by then, and don't put a rotation out there that looks like ours. They appear to be headed towards the #1 seed in the east, but home court advantage in the finals might still be to play for.

Philadelphia has fairly easy for next games, riding 6 games winning streak, it's almost guaranteed that they will secure 1# on East within next 3 games, as Nets lost 4 in a row and play Nuggets next.
Regardless, ,at least 1, if not both Magic games, for 76ers will be worhless and probably they won't play anybody from starting 5 (especially after how they lost Simmons in pointless game before playoffs last year )

Adams, Ingram, NAW, and Hart all out for the Pelicans tonight against the 76ers. Korkmaz is the only injury for Philadelphia.

Today's tankathon pull:
Orlando 6
Chicago 8

....

Orlando sits tied at #5/#6 with Cleveland
Orlando is a 1/2 game better than #4 OKC
Orlando is 5 1/2 games worse better than #7 Toronto

Chicago sits at #8
Chicago is a 1/2 game better than #7 OKC
Chicago is 2 games worse than #9 Sacramento
Chicago is 3 1/2 games out of a play-in slot

The computers have the Magic finishing in a 4-way tied for 2/3/4/5 and the Bulls at 7.

Interesting. Minny needs a win in this also. But it is actually plausible. Five 21 win teams.

Tanking fix idea:

We all agree tanking (especially the end of the season) is brutal from a fans and league perspective. In a regular 82 game season, why not lock the lottery odds after game 60? This should give a more true gauge on how good teams and the last 22 games (month and half) bad teams can actually play their good players and focus more on team building as opposed to just losing.

Seems like this would at minimum, make the current tanking situation much better. The only drawback to the idea that I can think of is unbalanced schedules (team randomly has a majority winning/losing teams left in last 22 games and thus not included in record for lottery odds).

Thoughts?
