NBA Player X: Refs play favorites
I was asked the other day what I think of the referees this season. My answer: I hate the referees.

I was only kidding, kind of.

Here are some other blog entries from this guy:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=999679&start=30#p22894074

Pretty sure it's Jason Terry.

- Talks about Duncan getting thrown out for laughing. Against the Mavs that was.
- Vet, that's been in the league for some years and seems to know most (vet) players
- Larry Brown comment. March 1st - Charlotte - Mavs 28-15 FTA
- Polite guy that always seems rather calm.
- Calls out Kobe (rivals), Wade (finals '06) and Paul (rivals) for getting away with a lot.
- Makes an example about groupies by bringing up Dirk falling for a (criminal) groupie -> good chance he's a Mav
- Writes about players getting traded out of Dallas because of girls
- Writes about the importance to have a go-to guy on your team. (Dirk)
- Then compares LeBron vs. Kobe and brings up some random MVP talk by players about Dirk -> gotta be a Mav
- Writes a lot about the west in general
- Not a Detroit/Philly/Orlando/Utah/Boston player, unless that arena comment is a trap
- Familiar with Allen Iverson, Antoine Walker, Bonzi Wells & Steve Francis
- Writes about the Hawks being notorious for partying before they got Joe Johnson. (former Hawk)
- Writes about (his former Hawk teammate) Antoine Walker who'd go to the clubs a lot.
- Writes about alcohol being bad (pretty sure he doesn't drink booz)
- Writes about a talented former college teammate that didn't make it to the NBA, because of drinking problems (Miles Simon)

Player X writes another article, further clues to point to x-'s discovery that it's Jason Terry.

http://insider.espn.go.com/insider/blog ... id=5148875

You have to be careful because you might run into a 7- or 8-seed that will out-hustle you before you've had a chance to get your act together. Look at the Thunder and the Bucks. They're up-and-coming teams and they play hard, they have all season. And right now they know they have something to build on by simply making the playoffs. They have no fear of losing. Trust me: It can be really frustrating when you're on a high-seeded team and you're playing an 8-seed that just will not die. Everyone on both sides knows the 1-seed will win, but the other guys never let up, diving for loose balls, hustling all over the court. There are no free rides for the top seeds in the NBA.

If Player X is Terry, he seems to be speaking of his experience in the 2007 Mavs-GSW series.

Frankly, I also wouldn't be surprised if Denver wins the West. I know their backs are against the wall with Utah, but the Nuggets are the deepest team in the NBA. With all that talent, they have the toughest offense to defend in the NBA. Chauncey, Nene, Carmelo … you never know which one to focus on. Then they've got JR and Birdman coming off the bench. They're just a tough team and they play hard. And this time of year, that's how you win.

If Player X is Terry, he seems to be speaking of his experience in the 2009 Mavs-Nuggets series.

btw, another clue that Player X is likely to be Terry is his comment on 4/1 http://insider.espn.go.com/insider/blog ... id=5046968 "For instance, Kevin Durant has impressed me with his ability to get a whistle at such a young age. He had 15 free throws the other night!". The 15 free throws by Durant occurred on 3/31, meanwhile OKC's next opponent was 4/3 against Dallas. Obviously, Player X was doing some homework on Durant to prepare for their next game against each other, otherwise why would anybody be aware of such an insignificant detail of how many free throws Durant shot?
