"If" it happens it won't be next year.
2-3 years more likely.....again....IF, it happens.

Man, a barrage of UCF articles from me. Not particularly interesting, but still mentioned UCF.
Water ice and organic molecules have been discovered on an asteroid's surface for the first time. Researchers glimpsed the ice on 24 Themis, a frosty rock that could be the key to understanding how Earth became the blue planet.
"What we've found suggests that an asteroid like this one may have hit Earth and brought our planet its water," said astronomer Humberto Campins of the University of Central Florida, the lead of one of the two separate teams that reported similar findings April 28 in Nature.

UCF is number 3 in patents according to IEEE. I think they're doing their part.

#3 in patent "power."
Still, like you said, they're doing their part. UF and USF are in the 30's, so kudos

Say whaaaaat?
A marriage of the two biggest football hotbeds in the nation-- Texas and Florida. A future Big 12 that includes UCF and USF.
If USF was attractive to the BIG EAST then and UCF is now, why wouldn't the schools - as a pair - be just as enticing to the Big 12?
Who else would the Big 12 consider? A few possibilities could include BYU, TCU, Houston, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, Memphis, Louisville, West Virginia and Cincinnati. Sure, some of the BIG EAST schools are compelling, but I feel UCF and USF would be the strongest additions. Here's why:
I know everybody gets sick of hearing the "P" word, but are there two programs with more potential than UCF and USF? Both universities are top 10 in terms of enrollment, which is leading to exploding fanbases. UCF is currently No. 3 on the list (behind Arizona State and Ohio State), while USF comes in at No. 9

No way that works out. This article was simply a means to drive traffic to his site and it worked.
UCF Thread: Summer Recruiting

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/c ... 8577.storyAnother Transfer.. This one a senior (Graduating in three years, seeking a masters offered here they don't offer there)...
Tom Herzog said he was happy being part of a winning program at Michigan State, but he sees an opportunity to play a bigger role in UCF's success.
Herzog, a 7-foot center who was highly recruited out of high school, is transferring to UCF.
He hopes to invoke the same NCAA transfer eligibility rule used by former UCF quarterback Brett Hodges, making Herzog available to play the 2010-11 season for the Knights. Herzog is planning to earn his bachelor's degree at Michigan State this summer, transfer to UCF to pursue a master's degree not offered at Michigan State and apply for immediate eligibility so that he can play his senior season for the Knights.
He picked UCF over Bowling Green, Toledo and Stony Brook.
"I accomplished a lot of team goals at MSU, but I was unable to fulfill a couple of individual goals," Herzog said. "I was happy at MSU, but I wanted to find some place that would be a better fit for me. I visited a couple of schools, and I really fell in love with UCF. I really like Coach [Donnie] Jones, and I think that's going to be a great fit for me."

Yeah, not a huge fan of him being one and done.. but it'll be a hold over till Donnie can recruit a freshmen center.

At this point anything is better than what is currently on the table.

Former St. Petersburg Northeast running back Jeff Brinson, who is transferring after two years at Iowa, has seen less interest from USF coaches and now has Central Florida as his top choice, according to the high school coach handling his recruitment.
"I would say he's very excited, and (UCF) is very interested," said Ken Crawford, a former Northeast assistant coach who now is on the staff at Pinellas Park. "It's going to come down to compliance."
Brinson is hopeful of landing a hardship waiver (due to a family illness) that would allow him to play this fall (with three years of eligibility) instead of having to sit out the season as most Division I-A transfers do. He met with USF's coaches back in March, but Crawford said the Bulls "showed early interest but have fallen off a little" in communications with Brinson.

Graduated today so I missed today's Magic game. Bagpipes, organ playing, and Lee Constantine were fun. Long ceremony and it's hot as hell in those gowns.
