I always wondered why we didn't have one. I just thought I could create a thread for any and all trade proposals to go.
Mods, if I'm in the wrong, I accept my forthcoming lock with pride.

This is actually a good idea .. These trade threads are starting to be like heat threads on the general boards, way too much

Pacers get the PF they need, Denver gets young potential in George and some cap relief, Orlando gets what they need. Throw some picks and cash in there and we are set.

The idea of proposed trades is to be realistic for all teams involved. There is nothing realistic about the Sixers accepting this trade.

Despite all the critism trade threads get. I still like playing with the trade machine. So here are a couple trades that I like. Some more complicated than others.
Trade 1:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=2dbf7u5Trade 2:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=259ylshTrade 3:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=2dokecuI just would really like to see a trade for a big player, but I don't really see any available trades that I would want for the Magic. Unfortunately, unless we are getting a top player, I don't see any quality trades that we benefit from. Melo and CP3 are about the only ones that have even talked about being available and CP3 not so much anymore. I would really like to see Melo come here because I know that we need that wing player who can create his own shot and go toe to toe with some of the superstars. I really think that would open up Dwight Howard, and I think Melo can adapt to this team really well. SVG seems to have had an open mind to changing his philosophies (Albeit not a lot), but he is willing to try new things. Also, I believe that we can still have a decent amount of depth if we do a trade for him. We already know that it will probably take a 4 team trade for the Melo trade to work, so it will be a tough sell but still able to be done.
I already know that a lot of people are going to attack this thread because they hate trade threads, but they don't have to read it if they don't like it.

I disagree. I think consolidating the trade threads floating around the board is a great idea.

This one maybe the most realistic one so far and it does improve us, thing is I few good mey b getiing to much money, but maggette is getting less than carter n gets to the whole better than carter and gets to the line better than carter, but how much better does it make us? Also we take on longerterm contracts and it may cripple us more?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=2dfgfj3Now before everyone goes off thinking...oh just another Carmelo pipedream trade...please look at it in the long run for all teams/players involved.
There is more to this than meets the eye...
First off, Denver is looking to get something for Melo leaving, and decent value at that. They are also looking to possibly unload Chauncey's overvalued contract. We provide them with a legit former all-star PG in Jameer, at a fantastic contract value for a few more years, give them a massive expiring in VC, a solid SF defender at a modest contract in Pietrus, as well as a young PF who makes pennies in Ryan.
We get Melo, a great wing scorer (which we need), and a veteran PG who fits very well into Stan's system of being a great defender/3 pt shooter/clutch/veteran.
Now, what you will notice is that we now have VC's contract off the books, and Chauncey is a TEAM option next year, which means we could get rid of him, and have much more room on the books.....or keep him one more year until......BOTH CP3 and Deron have Player options. Now, assuming of course that Dwight and Melo sign extensions, with the allure of either CP3 or Deron (both of whom would be a PERFECT fit along with Melo and Dwight). There wouldn't be the same issues Miami has because they are 3 vastly different players/positions that all complement each other. In fact, maybe we could package Rashard's massive expiring with another piece or two that year for CP3 or Deron, or if they decide to take the Player Option, wait until the end of that year, when Rashard is off the books too then go after them in Free Agency!
I know it isn't likely, but it makes sense, for almost all sides involved. Thoughts?

So, is Billups, Redick, Anthony, Lewis, Howard a better team than Nelson, Carter, Richardson, Lewis, Howard? For me, the answer is a no.

Billups has a team option next year, pretty sure they'll hang onto him and just cut his salary.

Absolutely...against teams like Boston, LA, Miami, Chicago? Not to mention, this is VCs last year ANYWAYS....so you have to plan beyond that. As stated, a lot of this is done to also lure CP3/Deron to want to come play when they realize their teams more than likely simply aren't good/big enough to match up with the Boston/Orlando/LAs.
Billups/Duhon/Jwill
Redick/Q
Melo/Q/Shard
Shard/Bass
Dwight/Gortat
That is a pretty solid team right there...and Melo is a whole lot less injury-prone than VC, so factor that in. Also possibly the best clutch shooter in the league statistically when it comes down to it. He has a great ability to actually penetrate (along with post/rebound), which opens up the floor way more for Redick, Q, Shard.....along with create his own shot.....which was EXACTLY the reason we wanted to acquire VC in the first place.
Then possibly a year or two down the road you have:
CP3 or Deron/Duhon
Redick/Q
Melo/Q
Bass/?
Dwight/Marcin
Fill in some OK backup players here.

You mean hang on to him for one more year and then just not resign him? Or are you talking about the CBA which might reduce existing salaries? Either way....why wouldnt they just want to cut his salary NOW (or after this year) since he isnt worth $13+ mill to them next year...that's the whole point of building a team option into a contract.
Lots of rumors suggest that they are looking to unload his contract in a Melo deal in order to get more value/young players. Probably not that many teams are willing to mess with that contract, or offer a good/value PG in return, we can.

couple of things.
Billups isnt a great defender anymore. He has gotten older and slower, cant shoot like he used to and was never an elite defender at the PG spot. Shoot, Nelson has lit him up the past couple of years.
And VC's/Chauncey contracts off the books doesnt really create any salary room. We would have Dwight/Shard/Melo/JJ/Bass/Gortat, that puts us over the salary cap.
