Hey guys I never really start threads and don't make stuff up to get attention like some people on here. However, I thought I'd share what I heard from a friend who works in the Magic organization.

He said that the chatter is that Otis has been talking to Western Conference teams specifically Memphis and Golden State either for a package surrounding OJ Mayo or Monta Ellis. What he is hearing is that Otis wants to make a deal ASAP as long as it makes sense for the franchise. Management is worried that we are going to get too far behind Boston and Miami and they want to add a younger SG to try to jumpstart our team.

I'm not trying to be annoying just relaying the information I recieved. I know there was the rumor about the Mayo/Randolph for VC/Bass but my friend says they aren't too interested in Randolph because of the worry that he will take too many touches away from Dwight.

too bad, people are going to overly react to this and believe they'll be getting Ellis by the end of this week.

I don't see how Bass fits into this though, I'd doubt the magic would trade him at his production right now.

Yeah of course everyone will overreact I'm ready for it. I really hope Bass isnt included but I know other teams are going to value him based on his production recently.

well if we get mayo or ellis, we successfully paired dwight with a young sg who can go off for 30.

If we can get Ellis, GO FOR IT. But If Mayo is the best offer at the moment, wait til the deadline and see who's dying for an expiring contract.

But seriously, has your buddy ever told you anything that has happened? Also, without giving away too much or nearly any info, does he work in a position where he would actually hear something?

Thanks for the info. Trading for Mayo or Ellis would be great for us. We would get a lot younger and more explosive. I would prefer Ellis, but Mayo has a lot of untapped potential and pairing him with Dwight could yield great results.

This.

Both are young and could grow with Dwight. Both are on great contracts (I'm sure we could resign Mayo for the same or even less of a deal that Ellis has). Both are ideal in my opinion in what we need to be looking for. We tried getting an over the hill wing, now it's time to go for youth that brings results.

Plus the only rumor we have heard was the false joke in the other thread, and your friend's chatter he overheard.

Nothing personal but I don't see this as anything big.

So after the owner clearly says they are not looking to trade Mayo, they'll end up trading him by the end of the week?

I'm not saying that's not possible, but that's messed up. I'm sure they are looking at deals, but I don't see anything going down.
