... we still have 12 days until the deadline... I wouldn't be surprised if this goes up to part 16 or 17 before the deadline passes... like NoLimit said

I'm going to make a prediction... I say Otis somehow finds a 3rd team and gets Ellis at the 11th hour of the deadline... and the forum erupts in joy

*hey someone has to stay optimistic*

I posted this in 13 to help us get out of it; but I would like to see if anyone has any info on it:
Does anyone have any solid info on why Otis hasn't been fired at this point? I heard that the Magic don't want to do anything mid season and will wait until the end of the year before making a decision on him; but isn't that just giving him a chance to do more damage?
I've heard that GM's and scouts are circling Amway just waiting for the eventuality that he gets canned; and it seems like when BVW stepped down that might have been the perfect time to let Otis go too. They did a major housecleaning (behind the scenes) where they let 20+ other people go when BVW walked; yet Otis was not one of them.... Wasupwitdat?
If we got a more respected name in the FO before the trade deadline in your opinion would it have made it easier to deal with some of the other clubs(outside of Golden State of course) or would we have looked too vulnerable at a crucial time? I can only assume the latter is the Magic Brass' thinking.
I know that Otis has done some good things; but at this point (even to a homer like myself) the bad seems to outweigh the good.

NW wrote:Bucks IMO. Milwaukee is weird cause you don't know if they're tanking of making a run at the #8 slot. If it's the former, this deal doesn't help (Magic draft pick would). If it's the latter, it makes them deeper but not better-especially with a defense minded hardass coach like Skiles
That's what I thought. Maybe we throw in a pick or keep a sg and add Ryan (to the bucks). I don't know, but I think something similar to this deal is our best shot at keeping Dwight.

We need to hire Troy Weaver. Asst. GM to Presti in OKC.

I heard a theory early on that the Magic didn't want to come off like they were falling apart at the seams and are keeping Otis till the offseason and then will let him go. Make it seem like part of the biz.

Nobody wants the GM job until the Dwight situation is resolved. You don't want losing Dwight Howard to be your first act as a GM. Looks pretty bad on a resume unless you pull off a miracle trade by getting him to Miami for LBJ and Wade.

I cracked the formula. Otis wore number 32 so therefore a trade will take place when we get to thread 32. Gotta lot of work to do people.

Dwight/Hedo/Davis FOR Monta/Lee/Kwame(Expiring)/Brandon Rush(Expiring)
We rid our worst contracts and get an exciting youngin to help our tank, along with expirings.
OR
Dwight/Hedo FOR Lopez/Brooks/8th-13th Draft Pick
GS isn't really as bad as some say
Neither are really appealing. IF Howard has to go, I would rather do...
ORL/LAL/HOU/PHI
To ORL: Bynum/Lowry/Iggy/CLee/J Hill/(Odom TPE for Nelson)
To LAL: Howard/Turk/Nelson/BBD
To HOU: Gasol/Orton/D Morris/2nd rnd pick
