Houston and LA are the front-runners to land Dwight now, IMO.

Hope this thread is where we find out who our GM will be.

And what is this I hear about something big?

If the Magic decide to trade Dwight, and I said IF, I don't think they would spend any significant amount of time speaking with Nets.

I think our chance of retaining Dwight went up. The whole season it was Nets or bust. Just a few days ago, Broussard listed Dwight's ordered preferences as 1.) Nets 2.) Magic 3.) Lakers. Unless he really despises ORL, where else is he going to go and win a championship and have more success than he can here?

Deron Williams sure as hell isn't staying in Brooklyn. Book that.

Do you think 3-way talks open up between Orl-Cle-LAL?

If Dwight does indeed want to be dealt, especially knowing the landscape of the lottery what team now offers the best package?

Well since we won't be trading with the nets, I'm now looking forward to them going down in flames for this fiasco they've instigated. They had a solid future before the Dwill trade, and they gambled it away. serves'em.

There are two L.A. teams that could work, Lakers and the Clips. Houston has a chance to get in on as a third team possibly, but not to land Dwight themselves and taking Gasol instead. I think the Clips would move Griffen and Jordan for him, also enabling them to lock up Paul long term. The third team possible is the Knicks, but not my favorite. They do have the talent and the contracts that would work though. The Hawks are an outside shot to pair with Smoove, but I doubt it would work actually, and that's about it now with the Nets landing on their face tonight.

The big news is clearly Phil Jackson, Magic have given him the keys to the front office. Will he coach too and have an assistant gm take care of day to day gm matters. Or will he take the front office position and hire brian shaw as coach. Phil has always wanted control over basketball ops. And he has the number one building block, Dwight, at least in Phil's opinion to build around. Question now is whether Phil takes the bait.

Also thought it'd be cool if we kept [track] of who made the threads. I want to see a variety of users' names by the time we reach Part 50 or even 100 one day. :)

There's nothing statistically likely that would leave Brooklyn or Orlando thinking any differently than when the Nets did the Wallace deal a while ago which hurt their chances at a D12 trade...

I'm not falling for any BIG news until it happens. Many of us have made our FO choices clear, so I'm hoping it's returned interest from a Spurs/Thunder exec. But Bower is not a bad choice, this guy again is a former scout/head coach/GM all in one.

Also, Anyone else beside me LOVE those Celtics/Spurs commercials? Especially the Spurs commercial, that stuff is pure awesomeness. I would kill to see a really nice Magic commercial like those two.

Well, if I remember correctly we are supposed to hear the GM name released on Saturday. If it is Phil Jackson I can say that I would have a strong feeling that Brian Shaw becomes the HC. If it is someone like Lindsey from San Antonio then I think we get Sloan as coach.

I wonder if there are still people out there who scoff at the idea that Phil would be a viable option as GM.
