Goodbye Ryno

Adrian Wojnarowski: Orlando RFA Ryan Anderson likely won't re-sign with Magic and will be moved in a sign-and-trade, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Rumors claim that we will receive F Gustavo Ayon in return. Hopefully a draft pick comes with him. Ayon appears to be a solid contributor but has a team option on both this year and next so this appears to be a complete salary dump.

Thanks for the good times.

Even though I hated you at times, I will miss you.

Should've traded ya at the deadline last year. Would've been a much better return.

Ryan was a true Magician. His best trick was disappearing in the playoffs.

Ayon is only getting $1.5 million. Ryno's offer sheet was clearly way too high for what the Magic would match. The fact we're getting anything decent at all is good news. Best of luck, Mr. Anderson. Sad day for Dante Marchitelli.

Few people believe that Anderson has any value to a team lacking a dominant big man. The Hornets need to add pieces and just drafted a guy they hope will be a dominant big man. Davis looks to be more of a Tim Duncan than a Dwight or Shaq type of big man, but last I checked Duncan required a few double teams in his day.

So this makes sense for the Hornets, but also explains why his value wasn't too high throughout the league. The right team will overpay (so that we can't match) while most teams won't be interested. That makes him difficult to resign or trade for equal value. Orlando was in a tough spot.

Really gonna miss that guy. Unless the money is huge, can't help but think it's a mistake. Anyway, getting myself excited for Ayon.

EDIT: 4 yr/ $36 Mil ... kind of a lot, but still...

:( Really going to miss Ryno, so we basically traded Alston, CLee and Battie for Gustavo Ayon. :banghead:

Wonder if people realize we didn't have to get anything for Ryno. Not to mention a player who continually disappears in the playoffs, he wasn't worth the 9 mil a year contract he is getting. Orlando building a versatile, big front court. Can't remember the last time we had a big front court. Going to be interesting especially if we keep you know who...

Thanks Ryan. We'll miss your 3pts, hustle and jokes. You're a good person.
I'm not happy but I'm not pissed off either, I didn't want to overpay him.

I really don't know this guy Gustavo Ayon, we'll watch him on the Olympic Games I guess.
