What if he wanted LA and Hollywood all along in the first place? What a way to make sure the fans hate him for going to LA than have fans happy he didn't go to the nets.

This is bullsh*t. I doubt we really scare away any FAs if we traded Dwight somewhere else, they have seen what he has put us through........Hell, some of them even commented on it.

don't worry, once regular season starts, everyone will be on the Lopez bandwagon, hoping/expecting the best out of him. myself included.

what is really getting me is that it seems like the Magic are treating this deal like it's the ONLY way we can unload bad contracts, so we can go on to tank. and the contracts we're moving are Jason Richardson and Duhon... JRich is paid under $6M a season, and should be easily moveable, and Duhon is only guaranteed $1.5M after this season.

i would prefer to waive Duhon, and find an expiring (like Gomes from LAC) for JRich, rather than jump through these hoops just to get Bynum. i'd also rather run the risk of losing Dwight for nothing.

but, that said, once Lopez is here he'll be able to go back to putting up numbers, and hopefully he'll become another solid trade asset down the line - which we will have control over trading.

And to further elaborate what I said in the previous thread about players not wanting to come here if we do the wrong thing with Dwight....

I think everyone can agree that just about everyone thought Cleveland was finished in the free agent market after Dan Gilbert's little stunt with his letter 2 years ago.

Yet, here we sit...with Andrew Bynum talking about how he would be interested in going to Cleveland once he's a free agent.

No matter what Orlando does with Dwight: Trade him somewhere else, sit him like the Knicks did with Marbury, or whatever else you can think of....

Free agents will always come. So the worry of no one coming here to take our state tax-free money should be the furtherest thing from management's mind. Not even a concern.
