I think we'll go 9-4 in the next 13 games till we face Miami, lets see the ranking then.

I added a couple new rankings to the first post. I know it's pointless, but I find it fun to talk/think about. Plus they usually have a blurb about us in each ranking, so it's nice to see what various commentators think about us on a week by week basis.

I agree.

You should turn this into an Official Power Rankings thread, and update the info whenever new info comes out :)

I like this idea.

Replace the Official Henny Transaction thread which is really not needed being player movement doesn't happen that often and could be covered under the Offical Speculation thread.

Ok, CBS is up as well. That's most of the ones I know about. Ok, new format on the front page. Removed the commentary, just the facts jack.

Last Edit. Added Bleacher report and SBnation for Monday releases and Yahoo for Tuesday release.

That, would be awesome and I could see it happening. But, still gotta take it one game at a time to see what happens as it is a long season.

If he does that, he should be fired immediately. You don't spend all summer telling us you're building for the future and then go all in once you have a couple of good months. Let's face it, we have had an easy schedule. We have only beaten 3 quality teams. The Nuggets on opening night, the Lakers in an emotional performance that is unlikely to be repeated (31 points in 6 mintes?), and last night the Warriors. Every game we lose is by at least 6 points. It's not like we're the Lakers losing on George Hill buzzer beaters or anything. This team is not winning a title this year, so just smile and enjoy the wins and keep planning for the future.

I disagree. If the Magic are a playoff caliber team this and next year, then they could add to this team in 2014 when they have enough cash to obtain even more all-star level talent.

FYI. There are multiple ways to build a team, not just by becoming a bottom feeder for a decade waiting for a superstar.

I'm not advocating bottoming out. I just don't see why we would want to trade assets away with no real hope to win a title. The goal isn't the playoffs, or the second round, it's the championship. Even if this team is able to add Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings this summer, I don't think that paying them 30 million and hoping that Vuc, Moe, and Nicholson all grow is a good plan to reach the top of the East. This team needs to take it's time and grow.

Orlando at 7-10 deserves #20-24 respect.

This season would be a failure if this team made the playoffs. Lottery or bust.

Part of me agrees with you, but the prideful, competitive side wants to hold your head underwater until the bubbles stop (figuratively speaking).

The lottery is just that a lottery, not a guarantee of anything. A couple of teams have been built primarily through the draft, many more have gone through a decade or more constant losing seasons, some (like Washington) are still experiencing them. Losing usually just creates more losing.

At the level the Magic are playing, they would be looking at a pick 8-15, but if they make the playoffs, they would be looking at 16-20. I don't think any pick outside the top 5 or 6 is making or breaking any team being that half the players chosen 8-20 don't even stick in the NBA. That is why it is a lottery. Hence, why gamble when you could have a sure thing as in a profitable business via playoffs after what happened with the Dwight fiasco?

I would take the playoffs any day of the week just to Prove to Everyone Else in the NBA they were Wrong about the Magic.!

I do not think any player in the top 5 will either.

This year's draft is pretty weak so I don't care if the Magic aim for the playoffs. Next year we better be in tank mode or else! Wiggins or bust for me!

Wiggins will be a bust. And, there is about no chance the Magic will get Wiggins or the 1st overall pick.

I can understand wanting us to win, but winning is the worst thing for this franchise. It's just going to be another decade of mediocrity. The goal was rise above that. We should've fielded a damn D-league squad and guaranteed a top 5 pick this year.

it is a good idea to combine all such information in a single thread, though i feel the first post might get crowded after a while. maybe posting them both in the first page AND as a separate post --instead of just writing "bump for new info--" for every update would be helpful.

nevertheless, really good idea, keep up the good work.

Alright. Can do. I'm not planning on maintaining multiple weeks on the first page (as a note). Once all of this week's are in I plan to delete the previous week, otherwise it could become a very long first post. Your idea is good though, then the previous weeks get immortalized within the thread.

I'd like it better if you just put the new rankings at the end of the thread. It won't be hard to find and makes it easier for people to respond. You could make a note on the first post that said "New Ratings (date) (thread page)."
