From the looks of things, #Magic F Glen Davis dislocated his left shoulder. Helped up and taken to locker room.

John Denton ‏@JohnDenton555
If #Magic PF Davis dislocated his shoulder, he'll likely miss about 3 weeks. If labrum is torn, likely done for year. Dr. Denton has spoken

John Denton ‏@JohnDenton555
Other #Magic options at PF -- Hedo Turkoglu is still 4-5 days away from being back, while Al Harrington might be 4-5 weeks away.

UPDATE:
Orlando Magic ‏@Orlando_Magic
After further evaluation, Glen Davis has been diagnosed with a left shoulder sprain. The MRI showed no significant structural damage.

Orlando Magic ‏@Orlando_Magic
He will be treated non-operatively. Treatment will include rest and subsequent strengthening of the muscles around his shoulder.

C'mon, that's a 50/50 diagnosis for either 3 weeks or the season by Denton. Have the Magic commented on this yet?

Vucevic and Nicholson's time to shine.

It will be good, this way we can showcase McRob to trade him.

Loved BBD's attitude and hopefully he doesn't lose it from the bench. Could be a blessing in disguise though, especially for young Mr. Nicholson as well as for getting trade pieces Ayon and McRoberts a bit more time to shine.

We'll no in a few hours before the team flies out or Toronto in the afternoon.

Hedo may he rushed back now depending on if Magic struggle starting McRoberts or Nicholson. I can see Hedo starting at the 4.

He has turned into a major piece of this teams success and the heart and hustle he delivers each game is infectious. But i am excited to have AN get extended minutes. Kid can be real good, but this might have lasting effects if BB is out indefinitely.

there's a way to read this thread title such that it means:

The Magic are afraid that, in addition to BBD having a dislocated shoulder, Hedo might be back soon. :uhoh: :sour: :sigh: :nonono: :banghead:

... i kinda like that reading.

McBob cannot play.

Eh, McBob gets a bad rap, primarily from his stints at SF. If Davis is out, I can't imagine McBob playing any position other than PF for the foreseeable future.

Silver lining. Either Nicholson will shine being thrown to the fire, or the tank commanders are happy and the losses pile up. Hopefully, BBD's fire will be contagious from the bench. Would hate for the young players to get used to losing.

It won't be BBD's offense that is missed as there are many scorers on this team, but mainly the teams Defense will take a major hit plus all the small things he does plus boosting team energy. I would be interested to see what McRob could do playing over 30 minutes in the game because I have a good idea what Nicholson can do.

I agree. I suspect McRoberts might surprise people. He's averaging 3.5 points/ rebounds in fifteen minutes, and when he's in he has generally been charged with banging inside on defense.

The other thing about losing BBD is Harkless and his lack of offensive skills at the moment. Its easy to say we have plenty of scorers, but you can't play two guys who don't score and expect to win consistently. If Moe stays in there, I suspect we start Nicholson to keep the scoring distributed.

I'm not sure Ayon slides to the 4 simply because he's gotten most of the time as backup center to Nik.

If only he could finish alley-oops again ...

I bet McBob starts.
I have no problems with his play at PF, he's just not a good SF.
He will get lots of rebounds.

JV likes to shelter Nicholson's minutes and give him good matchups, I don't see JV starting 2 rookies.

Hedo would be an interesting option at the 4, hopefully Vucevic can step up, he's about to get ALOT more touches

McRob has hops, some handles and started many games for the Lakers logging over 30 minutes a few times last season effectively. So, I am interested to see what kind of rythmn he gets when given extended minutes with the Magic. Could help his trade value down the road too. Same with Ayon.

At least Team Chemistry at this point is at a season high of which can only help when someone important is out.

Talk about a double whammy to a teams defense. Lose Glen Davis and add Hedo Turkoglu.
