Trade with Utah Jazz

If Jazz ends up with 4th pick, I think they want to trade down because they don't need PF, C, or PG.
- Who they want to draft? Assume Embiid/ Exum/ Smart/Vonleh is availale at #4, They will not draft any of them because they ave Trey Burks, Favors and Kanter.
If Wiggins and Parker go to Bucks and 76ers. Does Magic trade #12 + Harkless for #4?
Why the Jazz wants to do this? because they can still select a good SG or SF at #12 and add a young player in Harkless.
Why Orlando wants to do this? because they can select Emiid with #3 and Exum with #4.

2014-2015 core player
Exum
Oladipo
Harris
Embiid
Vucevic

Utah is in a Best Player Available position. They need everything.

Also, I value Harkless a lot, but Utah would need more to go from the #4 to #12.

maybe AA + 12 + filler would work. I think Harkless + 12 will not be enough for the Jazz to accept the deal

A team that just won 25 games clearly needs help everywhere.

I think if anything they try to move up to grab Parker. If Parker is available with our pick the Jazz could be a interesting trade partner. I've talked to some of my Jazz friends and they said they would be willing to trade their the 4th or 5th pick in this years draft and 2015 (protected top 3) for Jabari. They really want him and could give us a lot in return.

My stance would be just to let the Jazz pick who they want at #4, which, almost surely, will not be a PG, as they
have Burke. Marcus Smart, then, will fall naturally to us at #5. No trades necessary. We then pick BPA at, say, #12, and call it a good day.

It would take a helluva lot more than that. Maybe, Harris, Afflalo and #12 would do it and I would not do that trade.

If we land Parker I would have no problem flipping him to Utah for Dante Exum + a 2015 Protected pick. I would do it in a heart heartbeat assuming that Exum might be a higher target for us. Shoot.... i'd even take Exum and this years 23rd pick which they also have. Draft a player like Capela and let him marinate in Europe for another year or so.....or if someone falls in the draft....scoop em up.

An Exum + Aaron Gordon (@12 if he falls) ... would be a solid to great draft in my opinion. Just wish gordon was and becomes a better FT shooter.

I would not trade Parker for Exum even if they promised a "Protected" 2015 pick. Parker is proven legit and Exum is a proven question mark. He has a helluva lot of a chance of being Von Wafer than Kobe.

I doubt anyone with a top-4 pick is going to draft for need...

Nor be looking to trade it.

I would trade Hark and #12 for any top 9 pick. You are giving up way too little for what we get.

Hark will prove you wrong!!!

Kid is only 21 years old and could still end up better than Tony Allen.

I think this comes to the point. Harkless looks to be, at best, a bench player. The difference between #12 and the hopes for a top-9 guy are pretty large. I agree that Orlando would likely make a #12+Harkless for 9th-or-better selection.

Instead of this being a Wiggins/Ennis draft, it suddenly looks more like Wiggins/Vonleh. That's a pretty big difference in projected talent.

..

Yeah a lot more. Harkless doesn't have that much value. He is young and has some potential but he wasn't even a full time starter here and at times he wasn't even in the rotation.
