skiles? ehh... a year or two ago I would have said no way, but my standards seem to have dropped tremendously after watching vaughn coach the team for 3 years. Still would prefer karl or malone, but skiles is probably worth at least a 2 year stint.

So glad it finally happened! Hopefully Borrego doesn't finish the season as the coach, but I'll give him a shot. At least he's a different voice, even if he probably agreed with most of what JV did

Good riddance
Seems like a nice guy and could maybe work again one day as an assistant, scout, or FO guy but his performance as a head coach was nothing short of pathetic

Skiles would be a train wreck. Would wear out his welcome by the end of next year.
Use the interim this year as it is already a waste, then do a full search this summer.

yes, search when other teams have all fired their coaches so we have to compete with 5 other teams for the best coach when we could negotiate now for the best coach available (because let's be honest, anyone who is fired this year I doubt we'd want, except Thibs and he'll probably go elsewhere).
Not sure why everyone hates Skiles. I can get behind the hiring. I know he's a bit of a hard ass but I think that's what we need.

So, all of our assistants except Borrego are gone too? Who is going to sit on the bench?
At least it's done. Best of luck to JV in the future. Very nice guy, but not a head coach. He did develop some of our guys, but he has no other skills as a head coach.
As for Skiles, well, he has been successful and I do like some of his vibe but there has been a trend with him wherever he has gone and that's not good. I hope we wait for the possibility of Thibs or look at Malone or even Karl.

Malone
Karl
Skiles
