Wasn't there a ton of people on this very board that wanted us to waste the #12 pick on one of these two un-athletic wastes?

So glad we dodged those bullets.

It's easy to make bold, absolutist declarations on message boards during draft time...then hide some time later. It's a hobby around here.

I still wouldn't mind either on this team right now, they both can shoot lights out.

Have either of them even done that in the NBA yet?

Kinda tough to show when they are getting 13 min and 8.8 minutes.

Harsh mate.

Not many rookies have done much this season give them time to develop and adapt to the NBA. Perfect examples Gordon Haywood and even JJ Redick another off season in the gym for these two youngsters and I have no doubt they'll make a career for themselves in this league.

I'm still a big McDermott fan though I would not take him over Payton or Gordon anymore

the only waste, is the time I'm taking to respond to such a waste of a wasted thread.

Have you seen what Shabazz has done in Minn. year 1 vs. year 2??
Do you not remember JJ's 1st year.

Those type of players just show that college basketball sucks and doesnt compare to the NBA. The Adam Morrisons or Jimmer Fredettes and other players that dominate college ball come to the league and get exposed. Wouldn't even had drafted either of those stiffs.

Can't wait for your reaction when you draft Hezonja.

Give any rookie the amount of minutes these guys have played, and you'll be happy you "dodged the bullet".

Hennigan made the right choice...but to judge year one of these two players so harshly is completely premature...if you watch the NBA enough you'll see that you need to give them to at least the midpoint of year 3 to make the statement you made...and even then you don't really know until the player fails in two places. Look at Harris, a couple of years ago a fan like you would have waived him and now we are wondering if he deserves a max contract.

Too early, sometimes being in the wrong situation can affect a lot of things, McBuckets being on the bulls might be a great environment overall but for him personally he's not playing. Nik Stauskas has the tools to be something but it just hasn't quite got it together yet and he needs to work on his strength and conditioning. Nik was someone i wanted here and i would still like to have him here, i think time is on their side(yes it is). I mean even though it took a while Ben Mclemore is starting to turn the corner it seems George Karl might have something to do with that or maybe the game is starting to click for him but either way time is the common denominator.

i wouldn't take either player over our prospects, but i'd happily have them on our team.

Stauskas has all the potential and ability to become a JJ/Fournier/Korver kind of player, and that's great. McD could be a Ryan Anderson level bomber, and that would also be great.

I like Stauskas as a Fournier/JJ type of player but McDougie has no reason to be on the Magie. I don't like him taking time from SF behind Harris, AAron or even even Hark.

Wasn't much of a Doug fan but I still like Stauskas as a prospect. He's not ready for the limelight but neither was JJ when we first drafted him.

The Kings merely selected Stauskas based on the stats alone and potentially a trade during the 2014 offseason.

I thought the Kings were better off choosing Noah Vonleh as they are in need of a PF as of now. Vonleh is raw and has potential to do some damage if the right team coach him well. Stauskas I think should have been a Pelican or a Hornet as the need at SG was/is warranted at the time. It would not surprise me if Stauskas will be moved by the offseason coming up.
